Second Ball thoughts?
« on: November 18, 2008, 01:09:25 AM »
Hey Hammerheads!

My dad is a rabid raving fan of the Black Widow Pearl he received from a friend - and for good reason, as that ball is glorious.

But at the house we're at, the lower half of the house is much more friction-y, and he wants a second ball to combat drier / broken down conditions.  I was instantly drawn to the Blue Vibe.  What are your thoughts for a good plan B?

blue vibe would be good if you can find one also the venom, emerald vibe, or the rayzr..  the rayzr will go very straight. the venom for me was longer than any of my vibes blue red or emerald.

I would get a Razyr, it has some nice backend pop/carry in the drier, but will hold up on the oil.

I'd bet the Blue Vibe or even the Cherry Vibe would be a good step down from the BWP. I'd guess that the Emerald Vive is just to close to the BWP to be a true step down.

Just food for thought, my Doom, Widow Pearl, and Cherry Vibe that I had all at the same time were so darn close in total hook on every house it wasn't even worth having, the Widow Pearl was the smoothest, followed by the Doom then the Cherry, but total boards crossed were nearly identical.

My suggestion would be to check out the Emerald Vibe, it is a lot weaker overall but still rolls well and has a nice pop on the backend.

That is just my thought on the subject, layouts were similar in the balls I mentioned and same surfaces were used, but that is the house shot effect.

Agree with the Razyr as ball to choose here. The Vibes will probably be too similar as they are stronger than advertised. If you go with one of the Vibes, the Emerald would give you some additional length but still have pop on the backend end.

Go with the Emerald Vibe....I got a blue vibe and it is alot stronger than it was supposed to be. Hopefully the Emerald one isnt as strong.

My emerald was too strong IMO however you could do what my friend did and not clean it it got it to be the smoothest ball Ive ever thrown.
