is there a better series than the RAW HAMMERS?
« on: July 09, 2007, 03:04:53 PM »
Is there a better mid-priced series of bowling balls out there?  I don't think so.  In fact, I would put this series of balls against any top shelf series on the market.  The Raw Hammer series is just flat out awesome!  One could have one hell of an arsenal using the 4 Raw Hammer balls.

DOOM: best reactive pearl i've ever rolled.  It's one of the most controllable pearl balls i've ever seen.  I've never seen a ball carry light pocket hit's like the DOOM does.

TOXIC:  I was not a big fan of the TOXIC on tight lane conditions.  The back end flip is so strong that it's hard to control on tight lanes.  It worked great when the pattern had a lot of miss area and or you needed a ball to cover a lot of ground on the back end in a short distance (long pattern with broken down heads and mids).

PAIN: can you say control!  This ball is very controllable and packs one hell of a punch.  The PAIN handles a decent amount of oil in it's box condition.  Bring this bad boy to 500 grit and it's a beast!

ANGER:  From what i've read it's stronger than the PAIN but just as controllable.  That's one hell of a combo.  Stronger than the PAIN but just as controllable!  I just had to say that again.  This ball takes care of the heavy long patterns.

Add a spare ball and your in business on a ton of patterns.  In fact, this arsenal would rock on the difficult patterns as well as the THS.  I think i've found my upcoming fall arsenal!

I like Ebonites Mid's. RXS300, Gamebreaker, Raid and the No Limit. You have the best of everything there. Too bad they discontinued the No Limit, that ball got no respect.

No!  The ANGER has the TOXIC core which is a modified DOOM/PAIN core.  The ANGER also is using a new/different cover than the JUICED reactive cover found on the PAIN.

I agree, the best lineup of balls out for the mid line range or high end range. They cover everything you might see. Im sure a lot of people are going to say that the BVP line is good...but the BVP line has nothing on the products being produced by hammer right now.

John P,

Here is what I have heard.  The PAIN is being discontinued and the ANGER is coming along to replace it.

The ANGER has the Raw series core and is reported to have a stronger/better cover than the PAIN has.

I think the Raw Hammer Line is impressive a Pearl Particle version of the Toxic cover and the same core and a weaker ball than the doom and it would cover everything reaction and condition wise.

The BVP line is good but I have found just better match ups with the hammer stuff for me, thanks to Chitown i am a partial to hammer stuff though right now my bad is deceiving (I have stuff on order though)

Not to be a party pooper, but the Roto Grip planet balls are pretty good.  Have a little more variety than the Raw Hammers.

Doom and Toxic were/are excellent sellers though, no complaints from customers with those!

I love all the raw hammer balls I have owned. 2 pains, toxic, anger. No doom

The anger is simlar to the pain but I feel has a little stronger roll to the pocket.

the one thing the BVP series still has over the Raw is particle covers.I know alot of people say you don't need them but I bowl in one house where particle covers still give me better results.I've had great results in the past with Hammer particle balls here also but once there gone there gone forever and Ebo guit on the particle equipment.I'll give the edge to Brunswick but I do love the Hammer cores.
