Rico drill on hammer acid???
« on: January 20, 2009, 01:18:54 PM »
Hi, I just recently got a raw hammer acid and was thinking of putting the rico drilling on it. So my question is what type of reaction will I get out of the ball. I usually bowl on medium oil, I have high revs and about a 17mph ball speed. Thanks

If at first you don't succeed use a bigger ball.

I used it on my Emerald Vibe, and it gives a nice arcing, rolly, smooth reaction. After hitting it with a 2000 abralon it really tuned it in. I'd say a Rico on an Acid would give a similar reaction, and be great on a medium/heavy pattern.

I have an Acid with a strong drill 60 deg, 3 1/2 P2P, 30deg. For me (take a look at my profile) this Ball is very smooth and strong. Its the very edge that is still (for me) playable on Kegels Middle Road, it could handle more oil.

I also have Rico on a switch blade. The switch blade on 1000 grid compared to the Acid, reacts weaker and even smoother, its a very nice and unique reaction in my arsenal. The strike angle feels a bit strange. On 1500 Grid with polish the switch blade rolls to unpredictable for me. There are better balls in my bag for any condition than the switch blade, but i like the idea to have it with me on tournaments, it saves me more then once.

Hope this helps you somehow.
