Scroggins throwing a burn....
« on: August 12, 2009, 05:52:01 AM »
I was on extra frame watching match play and Scroggins is throwing the Raw Burn in his match with Rash.

He is not going to have to learn 4 lines of new equipment, just one.  Ebonite signs you to only 1 of their brands.  You can not cross over to another brand, unless they changed their policy this year, which I doubt.

See what magicmike said above, they also mentioned on xtra frame that scroggins and fagan can use all 4 brands.  I also saw Stevie Webber throwing what looked like some of the new columbia stuff as well as a pinslasher, so he may have a similar deal as well.

There have been people in the past as well to get a 4brand contract.  Patrick Allen comes to mind.

Britton an incentives based contract is nothing like a ball contract. Scroggins got paid extra for making a show, where as say Wes Malott gets paid a yearly salary for being on staff with roto grip. Scroggins only got paid a little when he made a show. Thats the only reason why he felt he got snuffed. He thought he should have gotten a full contract. As for the contract scroggins and fagan have, they can throw all four companies. Stevie Weber isn't on staff, but only throws columbia, ebonite, and hammer right now. I tell ya what he has had a great start so far with the new stuff.

Yes i understand there is a difference but in your original statement you said "Scroggins was not happy when he wasn't signed with roto grip or storm last year." he did have a contract was the point i was trying to make thats all.

quote:
lot of guys who made shows last year who were free agents got there throwing a bunch of brands all week and then Storm and Roto on Sunday for $$ Incentives.

Such as?  If you were a pro, what would you use...the ball that gave you the best look to win the money up top or the ball that payed the most incentive money...seems like a simple choice to me.

I tell you what, Scroggins was not happy when he wasn't signed with roto grip or storm last year. He really pushed that brand and they snuffed him. I am glad someone signed him. He makes shows, and wins tournaments. Hell he has two majors to his credit.

How did he get "snuffed"?  He had a contract last year that allowed him to throw both storm and roto grip.

It will be interesting to see what kind of year he has.  As TheDude said he no longer has that second set of eyes behind him, plus he has to learn 4 new lines of equipment.

I wish him the best tho, seems like a down to earth all around nice guy.

Accually he did NOT have a contract with Storm/Roto Grip. He had incentives when he made a show. Storm/RotoGrip did not sign him. They decided to sign Wes instead. Of course signing wes was a great thing to happen to Roto Grip, but if not for scroggins making shows with the cell, Roto would not be where they are at right now. Trust me I know Mike, so I don't know where you got info on him getting a contract, because he didn't. This is why he signed with Ebonite, he has been a free agent for the past 4 years.

The Cell was/is a great ball...people don't just go buy it because they saw Scroggins on TV with it...you can also say the opposite. Scroggins won't be where he was last year if not for roto-grip/ storm.....Things like that is just not right to say!

Roto Grip is a great company and the cell is a great ball, but I saw a tape yesterday of the womens open and Kelly Kulick was using I think the pearl and solid and it is the worst look I have ever seen her have, she probably never wants to see another one let alone use one

Wait until word gets out about Wes and Rhino using other balls other than what the label said they were and getting caught by the PBA.  They were told to get rid of them or have them X-rayed by the PBA and the USBC.  They were removed from the truck in a flash from what I hear.

Bottom line is that they were using equipment that was not what the serial# said it was.  The label said one thing the actual equipment was something else.
They got busted.  Have fun covering this up.
