I kind of have to agree.  If you want to shine one, you should have just bought a Doom.

These balls are very different.  Even with the PAIN shined.

I have a pain that is shiny and I like it alot.

I drilled mine with a tall pin (4" above midline) and about 1.5" from VAL, CG in towards grip center, weight hole to bring back to legal, sanded to 1000 grit abralon and then hit with Ebonite Particle Polish.  Ball gets down lane and makes a quick little move in the backend, too defined of a move to be considered an arc, but not strong enough to be considered a flip.

One reason to get a polished Pain rather than a Doom is that the Doom is pearl and for a lot of people, shiny pearls can tend to squirt if not drilled for some midlane (myself included).  Those people can get a similar reaction out of a weaker drilled, shined solid reactive although without the squirt

Just a little about my game first. I'm not really a tweaner or a cranker but somewhere in between. Speed wise, I'm consistently around 11.8 MPH.

I bought this ball originally thinking i would use it with the out of the box finish. After throwing several shots on several different condition with this ball  having the out of the box finish, I couldn't get the ball to go long enough. Last week I shined this ball up and now throughly enjoy it. I shot 210 and 247 last night with it after the shot started to break down. I was still able to have a smooth acring motion with this ball.

11.8 speed? Thats nowhere near a tweeners game, not to mention a cranker.
