Sling Blade - mini review
« on: July 25, 2003, 08:56:11 AM »
This is a mini review because I have only bowled in one house with this so far.
as just a note about the Blades series. I have owned all 4 and the Sling blade and Blade Particle are outstanding balls. The Blade solid and Blade pearl were great also but I had condition specific drills on them so they were a little less versatile. I think the Sling Blade and Blade particle make a great 2 ball arsenal. I could easily use the 2 on 90% of the shots I see.

Sling Blade
14# pin below ring, cg 2.5" from grip center. 2-3" pin. wt hole
my favorite drilling. pin under ring cg out.

House: 1/3 synthetic, 2/3 wood.

Conditions
  • fresh house shot
  • Open Play
  • Dry League Shot

This ball rocks. it revs up easily and finishes hard. I get a lot wow's from other bowlers when throwing this. they can't believe it's a 14# ball when I tell them. I rip the rack and send messengers like no other ball I have used to date. and I have owned plenty.

People were getting on Kendra for using this ball on TV. I can see why, it's a hard ball not to throw. the control and the hit is incredible.

By changing my release I can play this ball on anything but heavy oil or maybe a long flat pattern. I will have to wait to find something I can't use it on.

if you like symmetrical cores this one is great. no flip block so it behaves nicely off the dry.

More later after I have hit a few other houses.
