question about the No Mercy
« on: February 14, 2007, 03:56:17 AM »
I am getting a no mercy drilled right now.  My question is, what cleaner do you reccomend and how often/should "give the ball a bath"?

Ebonite Energizer, Track Clean and Dull, or regular alcohol. Clean it after every session and soak it after every 30 so odd games.

Ebonite powerhouse energizing cleaner immediately following every use.  This gets all the dirt and oil off the surface (this ball tends to pick it up quickly).  As far as when to do the bath... the ball will tell you.  When you start to notice loss of reaction.  For me it was about 30 games.

I use 50% simple green 50% alcohol after everytime I use it.also use 4000 grit abralon pad at the same time.no major sanding just a light once over.every ten games or so I use track clean n dull.I reached the 30 game mark and did the bath thing on it as I noticed a slight loss of reaction in the oil and it's back stronger than ever and looks good as new too.

I clean mine and my wife's after every set with my own cleaner. Use Clean N Dull after every 2 sets. Have never seen/felt a loss of anything on either one of them. Some customers that have bought from me also use my cleaner and no one has said anything about a loss of power/reaction.

A little tip of advice on the cleaner area, definitly purchase some CLean and DUll, the best cleaner on the market period, but it is a deep cleaner and I don't use it after every night, about every ten games on a ball or so. A good cleaner to use after every night until you reach your certain amount of games you bowl with it before giving it a dep clean with say Clean and DUll, or Tacky, which those 2 are the exact same thing, just diefferent names. I would get some Legends/Lanemasters High performance cleaner, The best stuff I have found out there for all perpose cleaner, way better than ebonite powerhouse, thats what I used for a long while and regret it. ANother that I haven't used yet but I have heard many say cna hang with Lanemasters cleaner is Black Magic Rejuvenator. Trust me don't get the Ebonite stuff, it is a waste of money, Since I still have a big bottle of it, I just put some in a little bottle and use it like while I am practicing after a game or two just to clean my ball off a little.

As for the hot water bath, like what Strapper squared said, whenever you notice a loss in reaction, it works wonders. Peace

B.S.!!! here's a vote for ebonites powerhouse, its good stuff, I also use Black Magic, Tracks Clean and Dull, I also use them exclusively with my ball spinner.

Ebonites energizer cleaner after every session.  Then hot water bath when ever you feel it's appropriate.

I to use them with my ball spinner, and all I have to say is that I think the Ebonite powerhouse cleaner, is lame, and i am definitly not the only person around here who thinks that. It just doesn't  get the oil out or off as well as others, for the smae price or less.

Its only strong point in my book is the smell.
