Statement rolling out
« on: March 28, 2019, 09:08:59 PM »
Just got a statement pearl and threw it tonight 1st time.  Would roll out right before the pins.  Any ideas why.  None of my other balls would do it nor have they ever done it at this center.

strong ball   poor choice in layout? if you have low tilt and place the pin far it will burn.
The harder I try the harder they fall

There could be a few factors causing the ball to roll out. Is there enough volume for the ball to retain energy? Did you put too strong of a layout on the ball? Does the ball simply not match up to your game? You have to take in consideration questions like these in order to figure out why the ball is not reacting properly.

Just saw a review of the Statement Solid by Tamer Bowl on youtube in his 2018 2019 solid must haves.  He rated it about the strongest of the strong.

With the same core I would think very possible the Statement Pearl similar!

Sincerely,

Most likely a surface issue, these covers are super strong
Give it 4000 + Polish and see what happens
Im not sure where you are playing the lane, but this piece definitely needs volume to perform IMO
try moving into the center of the lane and see if that area produces the same results for you

"Strong" means transitions quickly from skid to hook to roll.  That's exactly what thewhiz is seeing.  Remedies:  more speed, less revs, sand to higher grit and/or polish, or put it up until you hit a condition with more oil.  --  JohnP

I'm seeing the same thing here.  I think I actually need the cover to die a little.  Out of the box I hated it. Did exactly what the original poster stated.  After a game it seemed to get better and I shot 250 with it.  Cleaned it and first game out of the bag was the same thing, rolling out and no recovery.  The next game was 268.  I don't know if it is just getting used to the roll, but it definitely seems to work better after it gets some oil into it.  I'm going to take it to 4000 and polish and see what it does.  I wanted a strong pearl, because all my other pearls were just too long, but this cover might be too strong for me when teh cover is fresh.

How is your statement pearl drilled? What are your release specs?
