I got a huge scratch in the track area from a ball door on my deadly aim. I took the ball to the pro shop to get it resurfaced, respan it, and tighten up my thumbhole.

I got the ball back and it fits like a glove. The only problems are now:

1. It Does not hook
2. It tracks over the thumbhole, im usually a mid track
3. It seems like i cant get any revs at all on it. It doesnt feel like im hanging up in it, but something just isnt right.

Anybody have any idea what happened here? This was one of my favorite balls, and now the only thing that it outhooks is my true blood.

Why did you get it re-spanned? I understand the resurface work, but if it was drilled for you it should of been fine. Did they make the span wider? If so you may not be releasing it the same. Did they make pitch changes? Did they just move the thumb? If you're tracking different, then they changed how you release the ball. Just my $.02, Bruce

When I got back into bowling after being out of it for 17 years, I had the pro shop drill my first 5 or 6 balls off my measurements that I had on my old Navy reactive Hammer.

I started running into thumb numbness issues and the pro shop recommended checking span and ended up drilling all of my balls after that with a shorter span.

Since he was going to plug and Re-drill my thumb anyway to tighten up my thumbhole I asked him to change it to the shorter span.

Since I've see a few mention pitch, should that be where I start to investigate? If I'm clearing my thumb late, then that will move my track up correct?
