Black Widow Help
« on: January 07, 2007, 01:22:10 PM »
I just recently drilled up a black widow. This ball hooks way too much for me. Once it snaps on the backend it dives high every time. Is there anything I can do to the coverstock to make it less aggresive?

Take it up in grit, throw some polish on it.

And where could I purchase a product that would help? I'm thinking about just trading it, I really dislike this ball right now.

Factory finish is 4000.  If the problem is the backend is too strong, you can take it to a lower grit, which would make the ball start up a little sooner and should mellow the ball (make it arc more).

Take it back to the pro shop and ask them to throw a coat of polish, which would delay the hook.

Maybe the ball is drilled too strong for where you are using it, so either leave it in the bag for heavier oil or get it redrilled.

So it comes in 4000 grit, if i buy some 1000 grit abralon pads would this reduce the amount of hook the ball will have?

Or you could just try moving way left (if your righty) and throw the ball out far.

I have done that, If i do manage to find the pocket it leave a 10 pin two out of three pocket hits.I don't mind backend balls but I've never had one hook this much. I have very strong rotaion and revs.  What about a high gloss polish?
