Taboo - spare ball
« on: February 14, 2013, 10:31:13 PM »
Went with this piece for the low volume old wood lanes dry as heck THS we see every week

well, shot 803 a few days ago with it
cant believe how well it carries
carry is phenomenal

tried natural, blue hammer, U2, Jet, razor, slingshot
all to much although i have had some success with the JET
Arson low flare it a bit to much

Kudos to the guy who decide to put an actual core in a polyester shell

I love throwing mine to the pocket. Tell people all the time it is the hardest hitting ball in my bag.

Got one drilled Tuesday.  Threw it last night and hated it.  Was hitting like a marshmallow.  Went and practiced with it today and it started to come to life.  I think I just need to wear the polish off it.  Anxious to see what it does next week.

I agree that ball is great I sub in a house ,the lanes are a mess the first 25 ft are wood the rest are synthetic.Ive averaged 209 give or take a pin ,last year as well as this year with it I love it.The carry is vary good.

I knocked mine down to 3000 right out of the box with a pin down layout and a strong gradient line hole. It hooks pretty good but goes dead straight at the 10 pin when I move in and throw it harder.

Knock the shine off by hand Messiah....it is still plastic so it shouldn't effect your spares.

Personally, as a 900 Global/AMF guy, I would totally punch this piece up. Just might, in fact.

What's weird is I tried to throw it at my spares and it seemed to drift right as soon as it hit the lanes.  I kept missing my 10 pins to the right.  I pull out my T-Zone and hit them dead on.  Guess I just need more practice with it.  For now I'm only using it as a strike ball.

Probably something to do with the cover being weak so it doesn't grab in the oil and while it is flaring the ball backs up a bit.

That is weird. For me, even when I miss my target right for 10 pins the core stands up and walks the gutter like back in the urethane days. Knock some shine off it. Makes it uglier...but more effective.

I love my Taboo Spare. It destroys dry wood lanes.

HAHAHA! I was sure it couldn't get any uglier. But I guess if you knock the shine off a polished turd, it's just a regular turd after that.
