Hey guys,
I'm looking for opinion on the best ball the ebonite/hammer/track/c300 family use for the tournament burn. I'm not talking about short oil and playing the gutter, but late in the block of a tournament where one is inside 4th-5th-6th arrow.
Something that is really clean but nice and strong to turn the corner through a little bit of carry down to get the corners out.
Thanks

Track Tour X, Hammer Viral, Arson High Flare, and Spike
Those are the main ones
-
I saw a guy last night using the new Track Heat and was so smooth clean through front and all backend
-
This is what I use on the burn....
Viral Pearl, Heat, Burgundy Hammer (w/ 2000 & FF polish), GB2 Gold (4000 w/FF Polish), and Arson Low Flare (2000 w/FF polish).
-
I have a Track Tour X and that ball is very good on the burn for me.
-
Pearl or solid tour x? I haven't seen many use the black/blue solid but a few have used the pearl with some success
-
The one that intrigues me the most from what I've seen is the viral pearl. What's your opinion on it?
-
I love my viral, very smooth dosent read fronts than goes sideways on backend

It uses the Vibe core. That's enough information about it lol I still use my Blue Vibe from time to time in league. The core is very user friendly and matches well with just about any cover you throw on it

The Heat is a nice piece in deep, really turns the corner.
-
I seen a lot of guys throwing the new gb2 MVP during the burn. Looks like a good piece. Same thing with the heat, but the heat looks a tad bit squirrely.
-
Not EBI staffers but I've seen EBI sponsored teams use the Tour X, Viral, and Heat.

I have the Tour X solid.

A friend of mine just got the Tour X pearl, and I liked the way it rolled. But after watching him throw it on the 35' pattern in our sport league, I concluded it was too strong for what I was looking for. It was disappointing because I'm mostly an EBI guy.
Instead, I just drilled up a Storm Joy Ride. It has the same RG as the Tour X, but has lower differential of .022 vs. the diff of .055 on the Tour X. As a result, I find the Joy Ride to be a little more useful on the dirt and shorter patterns.

You probably could have went with a lower rg drilling to smoothen the reaction off friction, but it's good that you got something that woeks. The issue with burn is that some people prefer one thing and others like something else.

On the burn I like the Heat (Box surface for me) Burgundy Hammer (1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 finish for me) Black Hammer Urethane (500, 2000 finish for me).

OG arson low flare polished
& C300 disruption work well for me onm the burn
the new Hammer Black Urethane is still pretty weak and needs absolute dirt to be effective for me anyways
