Title: What ball should I keep
Post by: jmattox on March 11, 2008, 09:56:01 PM
Well I was wondering what balls I should keep from the following.

Black Widow Solid
Black Widow Pearl
Pure Hammer
High Rev
Hawg

I use the High Rev right now and just recently picked up the other 4. I want one of the Widows but not sure how my High Rev matches with them.

Are all these balls drilled or are they NIB?  Why are you getting rid of some of them?

Which Pure Hammer do you have?  I used to have the Black Pure and it was a fantastic ball.

All the balls are used and drilled. I will have to have them drilled to my size. The pure hammer is the burgandy. I had one of the Faball burgandy and I loved it. I figured that the newer made ones might be better so I got one. My thing is that I don't want to spend all the money for one ball where I can get used ones and see how they work for me. Does that make sense. I also have a HawgZilla but it may be the way it is drilled cause it might as well be a plastic ball cause it doesn't move at all.

It really depends on what condition you want them for and what you want them to do. IMO the best ball is the Black Widow Solid. Everything else...

Black Pure for sure -  a great piece for light conditions. Stronger than one would expect, but smooth and strong. With all the itchy more modern stuff, this ball is a great addition to any arsenal for lat(r) games.

That is what I am hoping for with the Pure as lately our lanes have been really dry. I lose it about the 2nd game and have yet to find a ball that works well for me.

It is not a true dry lane ball - cover and core are too strong for this, even if drilled weak. But it is en excellent choice for THS, lighter lanes ain general and to open up the lane with control through its arcing move when things dry up after some time.

A current impression of mine (just got the link at hand ):

I thought that was a pretty good vid.  I like the comparison between the balls.  I also liked the fact you marked your PAP which helps see how the ball flares and where it get's into it's roll.

So what ball would be a good dry lane ball that Hammer produces? Or any other brand also.

Blue Vibe is a nice dry lane ball and the Cherry Vibe is good for medium-dry.
