Compliment to the Corner
« on: March 10, 2010, 06:37:13 AM »
I am currently throwing the CORNER with much success. Heavy revs with a ton of speed. Usually do not swing the ball and play about 5 boards of area at a time. I am new to Hammer and was wondering if anyone has a compliment to this ball that I can go to once this ball starts overreacting. I was thinking about an ONYX but have been tempted about a shined NASTY. Any thoughts?

i would go w/ a onyx or a pin up emerald.  I did not like my psycho or i would suggest that as well.  Have yet to see a nasty roll so no info on that, but nothing but good coming from the onyx and emeralds

a Nasty will compliment the corner would the right drilling and surface prep, but the nasty is very agressive on the backend as well. How is your Corner drilled, that would help shed some a little bit of light on the situation..

Hmm..Lets see what I have in bag#1..The Corner of a Jigsaw,a Nasty Spider, a Motiv Qz1 Fire ball, and a green Avalanche..And in bag#2.. A bright red Mission, an Invasion, a Motiv Qz1 Fire ball, and a green Avalanche.. how can I lose?

Don't forget about the Sting. This ball is really really good and could be another possibility as a compliment.

My Corner is drilled at pin below ring and OOB finish.

The ONYX has definitely had my eye for quite some time but was not sure of the violence coming out of that ball. I am not one for going gutter to gutter so looking for something that will still have force and not just sail through the heads.

The reason the NASTY came to mind for me was due to the fact that I figured moving from the CORNER to the NASTY would allow me to stay in the same general area with the same power.

The Onyx Vibe is very tunable for what your looking for.  I have mine drilled pin up and just took a 4000 pad and sanded off the factory shine and man is that ball readable and smooth.  That would be my choice.  Allthough..all the Nasty's I've seen have not been very flippy off the backend because of the surface prep from the factory.  The Sting doesnt flip too hard either.  The Burn definitely will flip the second is sees dry boards..so I would steer away from that one even though it is very long.

There are alot of good choices from Hammer for you.

Good Luck.
