Blue VIbe....
« on: September 19, 2006, 04:36:12 PM »
I heard this ball is suppose to be for med to dry lanes.
Some say it's stronger than what it is suppose to be.
Is that true?

Can it handle medium conditions?

If so, how much carry down can it handle?

Hardly surprising.  If the BV is hooking that much, the oil's gotta be pretty light.  The HZ is burning up.

This is definatly NOT a light or Dry ball.   I would put in in the category of medium to med light.    The ball has a lot of hook for a "low end" ball.

If looking for a light oil ball, cant beat the purple VIBE right now.

It still depends on the person throwing it. I have the purple and blue vibes. Both are drilled identically and the blue vibe hooks less for me than the purple. The blue is a lot easier to control on drier lanes.

this ball is amazing.. i think its totally underrated but if you drill it right it will definitely be that dry lane ball you are looking for... for myself... its is a great medium pearl ball just under the doom...

last night i shot 300 in league with it... and the week before 1009... this week 1030... its honestly a beast in the background... definitely a must have for all hammer lovers

I drilled mine pretty weak bout 5 inch pin to pap, pin over middle finger cg in palm.  Shiny the ball didn't even move went dead straight could have used it as a spare ball.  Sanded it to 800 got a pretty good flip out of it.  With this ball though its a gussing game a lot of the time, keep it in the oil a touch longer and its either skate or hook.  Got to throw into the dry too, can't go down and in with this one.

I'm sure this ball is fairly good but my recommendation is to drill it a little stronger than what I did.

If a ball like the Doom or Vibe out hooks a ball like the HZ or Pain then it's because there isn't much oil on the lanes.  When a reactive pearl out hooks a solid reactive it's most likely because the solid is burning up.

All this talk about the Blue VIBE has my interest peaked.   I am bowling tonight on new Anvilane's on a THS, in league.   I may take my VIBE and throw it just to see what kind of reaction I get.

***I will try, but not promise to throw it, as the BW is pretty hard to pry out of my hands right now.

WOW.  717  with 3 errors.   Not bad.  Played 15 to 5 and had a great reaction all night.   The ball is a 5" pin to Pap @ 75*.   The ball was lengthy throught the lane and reacted well off of the dry.  The front portion of the lanes were rather oily last night.   The ball worked well under these conditions.

I just drilled up my Blue Vibe yesterday after work.

I plan to use it wednesday in league on a reverse block pattern.

Here's the photo of the ball:

Drilled it 4-1/2 from PAP. This was the layout Brian Graham gave me.
