zilla vs. infinite one coverstocks
« on: July 23, 2006, 04:38:23 PM »
I'm debating on which ball to get for the oil and was curious if anyone knew what the zilla's coverstock is (I know ultra violent reactive)?  I've read many reviews talking about the slow death of the 10.7, 11.2 covers.  Didn't know if the infinite one or zilla would be the same.  Any help would be great.

their covers are most likely identical, since Ebonite owns Hammer, Ebonite probably put the same cover on the Zilla as the Infinite One. Just gave it a different name..

Just my 2 Cents on that

from what i've heard, the infinite one coverstock is a sponge, holds alott of oil..

the zilla on the other hand, has an upgraded hawg cover, which cut and slice through the heaviest oil, and go to the pocket.

I throw it all, just give me a ball, I'll throw it. =]

Not even close, the Infinite One cover is much stronger than the Zilla.  Just watch the oil flares on the ball and much slower the zilla absorbs.  Sometime the stronger covers are not always the best.

Sooooo, the infinite one will be the meaner of the two, but have a shorter life??  With the Zilla being more consistent and lasting longer???  Is the zilla a version of the cut throat?????

With Hook Again other methods of removing oil from covers the balls last much longer.  NEVER USE HEAT TO REMOVE OILS.
Balls that don't absorb oil last longer BUT also don't perform well.  If you care more about balls lasting longer, just drill White Dots and Maxims.
house ball will last longer too but they don't perform well even on easy house conditions

I have the zilla if you need more ball than there is an oil well pumping onto the lane, zilla flares at least 7 inches and honestly hooks at my feet. I have lower- medium revs and high speed, with a 4 x 4 1/2 drilling this ball is a flipping oil monster. I would rate above the Big One and about the same as the super carbide bomb or legends Yeah Baby, i will have an infinite one in about 2 weeks but i am going to drill it at least 5 1/2 pin to pap area.

Hawg Zilla comes 4000 grit out of the box.  The Infinite One comes 500 grit.  If you need to scuff the Hawg Zilla to get more surface, you can.  The Infinite One is already 500 grit and they say it goes LONGER than the Big One.  I would say the Zilla wins on oil hands down.
