Just an informal poll.
I've heard that some centers charge for high school practice time, and some don't.
Just curious what your school does.

Sorry - the question was - does the school pay for lineage.
I guess the second question would be

we didn't have bowling when i was in school. it started 2 years after i graduated.
-
no charge on the bowling, however all sports are pay to play in our school system. The rule I hate is my kid cannot bowl in any other league other than the high school sanctioned league which eliminates a lot of the good bowlers from regular league competition and adult junior leagues as well.
-
I don't believe they pay for practice here!

This also is in effect where I live, i missed numerous tournaments I would have liked to bowl in. I'm in Illinois btw, and the IHSA who sanctions the sports in the state has the rules in effect.

The school was charged a discounted rate for practice. We as the bowlers on the team were never charged.
-
I as a member of the bowling team am never charged but I believe the athletic director figures out a deal with the bowling alley and is payed for out of the athletic budget.
-
Bowling is a club level sport rather than a varsity sport in Colorado. In our situation, the bowling alley puts up $300 to sponsor a team. The bowling alley also provides free practice (3 games per bowler on the team) once per week. The kids can bowl as much as they want above and beyond the 3 games, for $1 per game. The school itself does not pay.
-
Yes we have to pay...a few things included...
-Shirts(cotton polos with school name on it)
-practice fees
-tourny fees(cincinatti HS tourny the main one here)
-misc...(an actual bowling pin for seniors signed by team and coaches)
Thats about all i can think off...

We have to raise money through fund raisers to pay for practice at our high school
-
When in Highschool, they covered everything.
Coach even bought us Pizza throughout the year a couple times. But during tournaments and things like that we (the kids) had to pay for our meals. Never for the bowling though.

I am the coach for our new program for Lewistown Area High School in Pa.
We agreed as a team to pay our own way for the 1st 2 years to get this approved.
We do fundraising to cover match costs for 2 years, practice is paid for by the bowlers at a discounted rate 2 times a week, plus $5 for 3 games on Sundays.
We are brand new to this and hope to have fun and win 1 match this year.
