Chuck was kind enough to send us one of these to test out early to write a review on.

I drilled this ball with the pin 3 1/4 inches from my PAP, and the CG was 2 1/8 inches for my PAP. The Pin is 1 1/2 from the VAL.

I tested this ball on two different patterns, our fresh oil house shot and the 39 foot sport pattern.

On the fresh oil house shot this ball was clean through the head and then tilted over at about 37 feet and made a strong move to the pocket. The motion of the ball was a strong arcing motion to the pocket. The ball is more midlane and stronger backend move than the Cherry Bomb.

On the 39 foot sport shot, I found that there was too much overall oil for the ball to be effective.

I think this ball will be good for most medium oil league shots. This ball features a new Lane #1 core with a reactive pearl coverstock.

First I'd like to thank Chuck and Richie for getting me one of these gems early to put through it's paces. The tech skinny:

Ball specs:
Gross: 15-4
Top: 2.5 oz
Pin: 4"

Drilling selection:
Pin under ring, cg kicked just right thumb
Weighthole on line drawn from grip center thru cg 5" from grip center
Weighthole is 3/4" x 2-3/4"

Ending weights:
Gross: 14 # 14-1/2 oz
Side: 1/8 oz
Thumb: 7/8 oz
Bottom: 1-1/2 oz

With another week of this ball under my belt (in 3 leagues I might add) I feel confident in posting a true review.

We chose the above layout to tame the backend a hair for me since I wanted a ball that I could use on our typical lanes. I was looking for the reaction of my Emerald Pearl with justa bit more overall pop.

Well, I found it!!!!

This ball clears the heads as well as any ball I have ever thrown. It reads the mid-lane as well as my 3-D Offset did. And has a continuous and strong backend like the Danger Zone I had from years past.

Sport league...was a bit too much ball. I was able to cover way more boards that I have in the past. The ball gets through the heads clean, arcs hard in the mids and then keeps arcing on the back. It's not a snap but a hard rolling arc. I was just really inconsistent (got called to sub late and had no practice at all) and the results showed on the sheets.

In our normal league, I was able to control this ball with only minor changes in wrist position and a total of 2 board move all night last night for a 697. Now if I had been on top of my thumb changes a bit quicker that would have been a 750 with ease. I was clean through 8 for all 3 games. This is not normal..there are normally a plethora of splits in this league but not last night for me anyway.

The best way I can describe this ball is an Emerald or Cherry Bomb Pearl on steroids. It does not rev as fast as the Uranium but makes up for it late with a strong but controlled move to the pocket. This is also the most forgiving Buzzsaw I have ever thrown. It is not nearly as sensitive to errors in release as the Uranium and Cherry PEarl are.

All in all I rate this ball ahead of the Uranium (and recall that I LOVE that ball)and feel that it will be the flagship of the lane 1 line.

Thanks once again to the technological whiz's at Lane 1 for a great core/cover match up...absolutely awesome!

I could not wait to get this ball looking at the specs.
with the added flip block. I have the Uranium and the Uranium solid

Well I received the two I ordered today and drilled one of them to see How it what it would do.  Let me tell you I am very, very  impressed.  this ball cleared the heads very well and when it came back look out pins. I got messengers when I didn't even need them. The pattern I was bowling on was very dry in the heads and quite  a bit of carrydown from the leagues the night before. the shot was very open.

Did I mention I haven't bowled in a week because of muscle spasm in my back and shoulder.  I couldn't pick a better ball to come back to.

Mike drilled this one pin over the ring finger cg stacked with no weight hole.
this ball is Fantastic.
I'm not a great deep line player but this ball made it very easy.

Special thanks to Mike W. For Drilling this baby up. I can't wait for some  real  tournament action.

Only parctice but 1st day back scores of 248, 256, 289.

I had a friend of mine come in with this ball, drilled by someone else(not me).He didn't like the way it was layed out(had pin above ring finger,CG under palm,no side weight,3/8 oz finger weight)we went out on the lanes (our spans and fingers are about the same)and rolled about a game each. This ball overreacted to much. Slid to much in oil, hooked to much in dry.We have two different styles of bowling,I shoot more straight down the lane while he swings the ball.I did not like the way this ball reacted.

Ball specs:
Gross wt: 15lbs., 2oz.
Top wt: 3.7oz.
Pin: 3"

Drilling specs:
4 5/8 x 3 3/8
Pin 3 1/8 above midplane
Large wt hole

Highly polished with Ultimate Black Magic "Plus"

The Dirty Bomb is all length & backend!
It revs all the way down the lane, going long & straight, saving the hook for the last 10 feet before blowing up the pins.
Very clean thru the heads.
Hit & carry is good.
Should be a great choice for a cranker or power stroker.
Just be sure to keep your speed up & firm.
This ball has backend recovery.  Throw it out and it'll find it's way back to the pocket.
Great for medium oily to medium dry conditions.
Higly recommended!
Can't wait to try the Hybrid Dirty Bomb.

BALL SPECS:
GR WGT: 15lb 5oz
TOP WGT: 3.9
3" PIN

I have been using my new Dirty Bomb the last two weeks in my monday night league.
This is my 1st Lane 1 ball.......
687 last week and 703 this week, with a 199 the last game! ( My fault )
Needless to say I'm quite impressed.

I'm a down and in "tweener" (212 ave.), and this ball does just what I want it to do...
go long and hook......
although I have lots of balls that do this,..... THIS BALL CARRIES!!!

Light hits, high hits, it doesn't seem to matter...and when I hit a solid pocket...the pins just explode.

I'm so impressed with my Dirty Bomb
I'm going to get a Bullet and a Super Carbide.(and make some more room under my pool table for my other balls)

Guess I'm a "sawhead" now.

I just got in touch with Chuck on this one and I was really looking for a new ball to stock in my shop and after throwing this one I am really impressed. I have always liked the way their equipment rolled but with this latest core cover combinations they are coming up with I just had to try one. Drilled it up with a 5.5 x 5.5 and that stacked it right under my ring finger and kept the c.g. in my finger quadrant. This ball will replace at least 3 in my bag now as I have only seen a few balls on the market push this easy down the lane and have the recovery this one does. I own the center as well only use the best in lane machines and my SE puts out a very consistent condition day in and day out so I am oiling 41' with fresh backends and a nice blend and taper but no wall. I tried some different lines with this ball and was amazed at how it reacted the same if I was playing 25 out or 12 - 8, it has to be one of the best balls as far as midlane read that I have thrown.
If you want something that pushes with ease and can read the lane well enough to get back when you need it than this is definitely the ball for you.

Very Impressed, thanks Chuck

Drill

BTW, this will be added to my stock from now on, this is a great company.

This ball is by the best put out from lane 1. Very impressed on the back end of the ball. It comes back strong and hits like no other. I high revs and throw it pretty fast. I have shot five sevenhundreds and im only 17 and had the ball only a month.

I have had my Dirty Bomb for about 6 league nights.  I was pretty happy with it, but it seemed to slide in carry down oil.  I sanded it with 1000 grit to see if that would help.

I had a 879 (with my 103 handicap) yesterday.

Now this ball rolls until the last 5 feet and explodes the pins.  I love it.

I am a first year bowler with 2 weekly nights of league.  I learned to roll a hook about 10 weeks ago.

I also have a Track Rule, but unfortunately it may never leave my bag again.

Well here goes nothing- my 1st review!

Ball is 15 lbs, 4" pin, not sure on original TW.  Have it punched up with with a 4 1/2 x 4 layout (stacked), with pin at about 1:30, over ring finger.  Weighthole was needed.  I left this ball in out-of-box condition, as I do with almost all of my equipment.

Me: Tweener with above average revs and higher speed, track pretty high.

I have used this ball on synthetic lanes with a THS (but not a total wall- more of a taper outside of 7).  Have tried it on these lanes with carry down and toasted heads as well.  Have also used this ball on wood lanes with a very forgiving walled up shot.  To give a very basic comparison, my Pearl Uranium does on the wood lanes what the Dirty Bomb does on the synthetics on the same line, with the Uranium having less snap.

The first thing I noticed was the number of messengers I get with this ball.  Compared to my Solid Uranium and Pearl Uranium, this ball seems to really send the pins flying, although on a flush shot the Uraniums seem to carry better.

The ball is very sensitive to oil or the lack thereof.  This ball stays in my bag if there is noticeable carrydown or burnt heads.  However, the advantage of this is that this ball will definitely tell you where the lanes will let you play.  It will skate dead straight in too much carrydown, and when the lanes transition, you will know it by the ugly split staring you in the face that resulted from blowing through the nose.  I have to follow the transition by moving inside or switch balls; an increase in speed isn't effective with this ball for me on transitioning lanes.  It is simply too early for drier heads.

Give this ball fresh oil and clean backends and WOW!  This is my favorite ball of all time for this condition.  The ball is very sharp and powerful on this condition, and the area it allows you to play in is generous, to say the least.  The first 11 shots I threw with this ball were strikes, no practice.  Unfortunately most of those were in warmup before league.  However, I was throwing the ball all over the place, trying to figure out a good line (aywhere from 20-30 with my feet, then anywhere from 7-20 at the arrows to about 6-12 at the break), yet this ball would find its way to the pocket and carry almost everything.  It took me a while to figure out that it does need the fresh oil/clean backend combo to be at its best.

The ball is workable but not great on burnt heads if you are able to move inside and swing it.  It has great recovery and angle to the pocket, although it is not as clean through the heads as my Pearl Uranium, which is by far the better choice once the heads start to go.

I love this ball when my Solid Uranium is too early, and my Pearl Uranium isn't making the corner.  Fits perfectly in between.  It is about 5-7 feet longer than the Solid Uranium and about 5 boards stronger than the Pearl Uranium.

To sum up, this ball on fresh oil and clean backends DESTROYS pins and sends them flying all over the place.  Put it away if you don't see this condition though, as there are better choices for carrydown (Solid Uranium) and dry heads (Pearl Uranium).  Thanks to Lane #1 for a great ball!

Well this is my first review on this site so here we go.

I bought this ball for about $120 shipped on ebay with less then 15
games put on it. The drilling is as follows. 4 7/8" cut to cut with the pin at 12:30 above the ring finger. Cg is at the midline kicked out about 1 1/2 inches and a weight hole on the PAP. You may message me for pictures if you like.

I've only bowled with it so far on after-league type conditions. Tonight was after a men's league and suprisingly there was hardly any carrydown at all. Conditions were medium/medium-heavy. Lanes were combination 1/2 synthetic with wood backends. On this condition I was able to stand about  25 with my left foot and throw out to around 10 and it would come back perfectly  into the pocket. Even when i missed that mark the ball would never over-hook. Light mixers carried every time. Half pockets carried every time. Heavy hits carried every time. I bet you're wondering what I didn't carry huh? Well to give you an idea, I only left 1 ten pin in three games. The first game I started with the first 5 then spared the next frame...split the next and struck to my 12th ball and got some count to get a 241. Next game I had the front 9 and on my 10th shot the ball crushed the hell out of the pocket and blew the 6 pin over the 10....hence....my one 10 pin. Ended up shooting 279. Last game I had 9 spare in the first and struck through the 7th and spared in the 8th. Struck in the 9th and had a 9 spare in the 10th and struck the last ball. Ended that game with a 259 for a 779 series. Not bad for never having used a Lane #1 bowling ball or a ball at all with this drilling. Even when carrydown set in, I just moved right to about 20 with my left foot and through over 10. The reaction i get out of this ball is smooth through the heads, starts to turn at about 45 feet and then arc/snaps into the pocket for plenty of pain. It sounds like a bomb going off in the bowling alley when I hit flush. I cannot believe the power in this ball. To let you know how I throw, I put about 350-400 rpms on the ball at about 16 mph. I have now ordered a Uranium Solid for heavier oil and a Bullet for light oil so I'll post on them later. I would very much love to thank Lane #1 for making such great equipment and the sucker who decided to sell this gem of a ball.

BELIEVE THE HYPE!!!!

Got this ball used and redrilled to Stacked. This ball is very versatile you can play with it on any lane condition other than that it is very Hard Hitting ball makes bowlers stop playing wondering what lane that loud sound coming from. It goes long then nice clean backend then Kabooooom!!! Exactly shows on the Lane #1 Video but little more revolution on it.
