Uranium Pearl
« on: December 01, 2005, 03:05:20 PM »
OK, so here's the question.  My fiance is going to get her 15lb U Pearl drilled stacked, and I was just wondering on the placement of the weight hole, how wide and how deep, (just a general assumption since I don't have the specs or weights with me)  Also, I was just wondering how the position of the weight hole would affect the roll of the ball.  for instance, where would the weight hole be placed to increase flare and increase hook, or to decrease flare and decrease hook.  Any info will help out immensely and thank you in advance.

Tyler,
I have found that stacked drillings on Lane 1 balls are not the best choice.
I had a Uranium pearl and it was drilled label leverage. That ball had a great move and was highly predictable. I would bet that there are others on here that would agree that Label Leverage drills are the best for the diamond core. I am sorry I let that ball go.

I think you need the specs before determining how you are going to lay it out, unless you ordered the specs to accomodate your intended drilling. Is there a particular reason for wanting to drill it stacked? If the pin is over 3" out & the top weight is over 3oz, I think I would drill it as ChinaManB says. If it is a shorter pin with less than 3oz of top, You might consider placing the pin under ring finger with cg kicked out slightly, & then determine what you need to do for a weight hole. Mainly, what type of roll/reaction are you looking for?

Not intending to steal this thread, but would that label leverage layout work for the Tsunami? Or should i look at an assymetrical core drilling? i wanna get the most out of the ball that i can.
Thanks
