Can anyone tell be what the box finish is on a Cherry Bomb, i.e.
what is it sanded/polished to? Got enough scars on it that I now
want a resurface.
thanks

Brick is correct, 400 grit and Brunswick factory finish Or rubbing compound

Thanks, everyone for the info.
Hopefully I will have some surface left when I'm done. Sanded with 800
last week and it worked fairly well. Think I will try 600 this week.

Minor surface changes don't remove as much cover compared to a major resurface. Periodically refreshing the cover will make the ball last longer than waiting until it's tracked out and needing to really hit it with 220 to remove the track.

pacrat, what Strider said here is true. If the ball is not in too bad of shape then you need to sand it to 400 grit and then polish to put it back in the condition it came from the factory unless you are looking for a different reaction.
