Ordered my carbide plus+ today...
« on: July 31, 2006, 05:44:49 AM »
After checking some prices around online, I decided to go ahead and just order my new carbide plus+ through my local proshop today... I was able to get within $20.  I'm getting one with a 4-5" pin and lower top weight and am planning on putting the Girard layout on it (cg on midline, pin below and left of thumb with a 4.5"-5.5" pin to NAP distance).  I previously had a Goliath with this layout and absolutely loved it on any shot with lots of head oil and some oil in the mids...  I'll be sure to post some photos and a review once I've had a chance to throw it...

It sort of similar to a full roller...  it produces a "reverse flare"..  the rings go away from the fingers... by placing the pin below the thumb a sufficuent distance (actual location depends on your PAP), the ball flares under the thumb hole.  The bowtie is basically beside and a little below the thumb.  The ball seems to rev up real hard in the mids and settle on the backend.  Its nice for being able to play straighter lines to the pocket and controlling the reaction at the end of the pattern.  I'm hoping that the UPS man drops the ball off at the center today...  Tonight is the 44' regional pattern!
