Title: drilling a Lane #1 ball
Post by: 12XSECH on April 09, 2013, 10:23:07 AM
I saw on the Lane #1 website "how to find the center of gravity" I forgot which ball it was for but.....Does the pro shop guy have to draw lines across the diamond and weigh the ball 6 different times...then intersect the lines on the diamond to find the CG on all Lane 1 balls? I found this to be odd since all other companies have the CG marked. Im taking a serious look at the stealth bomber pearl but is it THAT complicated to drill? Im not looking to make a $200 mistake.

The CG marking is often not correct on balls from many manufacturers. Yes, it is generally marked on Lane#1 balls. The driller should always check for the accuracy of the CG marking, just like he should always check the weight and the top weight before ever thinking about drilling a ball.

The CG is marked within the Diamond, but like charlest says, it still needs checked by the driller as like he said, sometimes they are mismarked.

as brick and charles have stated, the cg is marked on L1 balls. Don't overthink the whole L1 thing 12SEC, its a ball just like all the rest.
