Would the Emerald Pearl be a good fit between the Super Carbide and the Silver Diamond? Or would it have to much overlap to the Silver? What type of cover is on the Emerald? Is the Xtra length reactive a pearl?..resin?..urethane? ...combo?

A better fit, in my opinion would be the Cherry Bomb. Given you profile, and the fact that I have these two balls, and am getting the SD in a week or so, I would think that the Emerald and the SD would be too close to each other for you. The Emerald is a Pearl Reactive, and while the silver will get more length, I do not see it as much more. As I said, you will see a much more noticeable difference between the Cherry Bomb and the Silver. You can always ask Doug Sterner, and he will gladly discuss with you his more imformative and expert position. Go to www.lane1bowling.com and you can see the information for yourself. Let me know if I can be of help at all.

I would go with a Blueberry or the new Cranberry. These are both solid reactives, which in my opinion would be a better fit in between a particle and a pearl reactive. =:^D

IEQ,
I see that you have NOT enetered a profile (most have not), so I cannot really tell your style. However, there is no way that the Emerald is stronger that the Cherry Bomb. Covers are similar, BUT the biggest difference is the cores. The Bomb core is significantly stronger than the core of the Emerald, thus giving it a stronger flare and more agressive movement. Just call Lane 1 and tell them that and I am sure you will receive a resounding no.

Hey guys thanks for your help. Bought a used Super Carbide a couple of weeks ago for a long sport pattern and have a used Silver on it's way. Looked at the Lane 1 site and at Doug Sterner site. As well as look at the reviews here and at that other site. It is still difficult to get a good feel between what the balls will do. So any input is welcome.

ICQ and atomized,
Both of you should contact Douig at dougsproshop@aol.com and talk with him. ICQ, something does not seem right, if both balls are drilled the same, yet they do not react differently. The cores sre so different, that it should cause a different reaction. I am not as knowledgable as Doug, but just reason and physics scream otherwise. Let me know what you find out. My Cerry definitely snaps harder and earlier than my Emerald.

Dave, your Cherry is drilled significantly different from your Emerald too, don't forget that.
As for the Emerald between the SC and SD...yes it will fit but I think you would be better served to look into something like a Blueberry (if you can locate one) or a Black Cherry Bomb as soon as they are available (another 2 weeks I am told).
What you have is a skid/flip pearl reactive and a roll/arc particle. The perfect fit in between is a solid reactive or a pearl particle.
The Pearl Bomb is a great ball if you have oil on the heavier side encounter carrydown. It is particle pearl and will smooth out your breakpoint and continue thru some moderate carrydown.
The Cranberry will be a replacement to the Blueberry and will have a slightly modified core from the BB. They are still testing this ball and are unsure of exactly how it will be designed.
The Black Cherry Bomb will be the best all around ball made (in my opinion) as long as it is not TOO strong.
The Cherry Bomb pearl may also work for you since it is inherently stronger than their other core designs. The ball will handle a decent amount of oil but doesn't like carrydown much.
If you can locate a Blueberry or the older version, the Black Raspberry, it would serve you well as they are probably more versatile than the others mentioned.
Best of luck and feel free to email me if you have any further questions.
