Everyone knows that purple is the best marketing color for bowling.

Black Panther is a bad name for a bowling ball, seeing as some people may find it offensive. It was a militant black group....

I think if people don't want to throw a ball just because it is pink, they aren't very secure. It's a great ball period. Color shouldn't have any bearing. Talk them into just trying one, they won't be disappointed.

I'm sure some of you bowlers remember when Hammer came out with the Pink Hammer--I heard the same kind of talk, but when some of us saw the scores that were being shot with it most of us changed our tune.  I would gladly buy a NIB one now if available.

Simply put, this ball may be PINK, but it sure doesn't act like it.  If you have a problem throwing a pink ball then maybe u are also not really worried about your scores as much as ur ball "looking good".  This ball scores, plain and simple....I might buy another one just b/c I like this one I have so much.  Real men have no problem throwing a pink ball, b/c real men shoot big scores and dominate the competition.

 I'll double that in spades!
The Pink Hammer was probably the strongest hitting, true dry lanes ball ever made, be it resin, polyester or urethane.
An NIB one in 15 or 16 lbs could easily be sold for $200 - 300, maybe more. If it had a decent pin distance, like 1.5 - 2", I'd pay $200 myself.

Well Ritchie wouldn't appear to be the type to shy away from a controversial name. I wouldn't be surprised if Black Panther would make a fine name for a ball. No publicity is bad publicity is the old adage. Never can tell when you get thrown a curve, especially if it is a buzzsaw.

I agree with Steven! When im throwing my Pink Panther everyone focuses there attention on my shots cause the color catches there eye when it goes down the lane. Not to mention all the women come up to me all the time about the color of the ball as well!

Steven wrote on 11/30/2010 5:14 PM:If the "men" thought about it, the pink color can actually be an advantage. I find when I use my Pink Panther in league, bowlers tend to focus more on my shots than their own bowling.

It definitely doesn't hurt.

In the bag:

Beans,

Just got one, and it is a very good ball the way it is.  If it was black, then it would be just another black bowling ball.  As it is, being pink, mine has some white swirl in it, as others have stated, people start looking at the ball and not what it does.  I have not been bowling that much this year, and I am not the bowler that you are, but it has been a very long time since I got a ball, taped up the thumb to make it right, and then tossed a six bagger right out of the box.  Had a couple of opens, didn't really care about them, but what I saw is a very controllable ball that goes right thru the pocket and takes out everything.  No deflection, no bouncing around it is sweet.  Best part of this ball is, the move to the pocket is so smooth and deceptive that you forget how many boards this ball covers, and what it does when it gets there.  Definately a money ball.
