The Super Carbide is a good heavy oil ball that fills the gap for me between the Solid Carbide and Super Carbide Bomb. The Solid Carbide is a good medium heavy ball, but doesn't quite have the coverstock for heavy oil with carrydown. The Super Carbide Bomb is great for a flood, but needs to be bagged when the heads or backends dry up. Does anyone else think there is a gap in the Lane#1 arsenal with the discontinuance of the Super Carbide?

I do not think so, and I would wait to see if the Black Cherry will fill that gap that you believe is there. Had you entered a PROFILE, I would be able to see what you style was (i.e. speed etc...) because I can use mu SCB on more than just floods. My answer may not be accurate for you because without a profile, all anyone can do is speculate. Most of the answers will come from those with profiles, so at least YOU can check out the profile, of those who took the time to fill one, and see which individual is closest to you. Shaggy, maybe a different drilling and polishing a Super C Bomb will fill the gap for you..? =:^D

I put a light coat of Ebonite's Factory Finish polish on the Super Carbide Bomb and I can use the SCB on a lot more conditions then heavy oil or a flood. I still think the Super Carbide is the best ball ever for med to heavy oil conditions, but the SCB has more potential if you adjust the surface.
