looking to trade my Cherry Bomb
« on: May 16, 2003, 06:05:04 PM »
heres what i got.. Cherry Bomb, 15lbs, drilled lable leverage.. thats for 8 on length.. 9 on backend if i remember right... span is around 5 or just a lil longer.. has thumb slug and finger inserts.. hasn't been used much.. still looks and hooks great.. i haven't been throwing very well so I've been having issues of throwing past my break point.. pulling and over reacting.. ect.. anyway i'm discouraged so now i want a new toy to get my head back in the game ( not that it will really help).

I know everybody gripes about the price of these things so heres my offer to ya: i would like a NIB  DynoThane  "THING"  for the CB.. looking for 15lb ball so it basicly adds up to something like $130 for the CB..

If anybody is willing to do such a trade or wants to try to work something out for it let  me know..

Crank, a lot of your problems has to do with the drilling on the Cherry Bomb. Label leverage is the most over/under reacting for that ball. I'll bet with a tamer drilling that rolls earlier, i.e. some sort of CG out layout, you will see a big difference with more consistancy. =:^D

My Cherry drilled 3-1/2 x 4-1/2 works great. I see no over/under at all.

I drilled my Cherry Bomb label leverage and had an over/under reaction until the ball got tracked.  Now it works great.
You will not see me on the PBA Tour, but I love the game!!!

i don't have an over/under problem!!!! when i throw the ball anywhere near the way it should be thrown its there and destroying.. i love the drill on it.. long and super strong.. and if anything i would polish it more to get it down even longer and flip harder.. i don't know where you guys got the whole over/under thing.. i know some ppl wined bout the label high pin being that way but i like what i have i just can't throw right now (too much golf) and i want a new toy thats it...

Crank, when you said that you've been "throwing past your break point" and "over reacting", that sounds like over/under to me. Yes, when you throw the ball perfectly, it does exactly what it's supposed to.

But, nobody can throw the ball perfectly everytime, so the key is to get a ball/drilling that will let you get away with some mistakes.

All I was suggesting was that with a different drilling you won't have to throw the ball so perfect. =:^D

well in all fairness to the ball.. its my errors.. you can't miss inside by 7 boards and expect to hit the pocket.. and you can't bounce the ball of the dry 15 ft early and expect it to not over react.. and you can't suddenly throw the ball 3-4 mph faster and expect it to turn when it has when you throw it right.. so its not that the ball is not forgiving.. its that i haven't given it a chance.. i have found it to give me as much or more area to miss than any other ball i own... just yesterday i threw 8 in a row just messin around.. so its not really the ball thats the issue here.
