Title: Medium light conditions?

Ok, what buzzsaw would be better for medium-light conditions?  As in my profile, I am pretty much a 16.5-17 mph (qubica) speed, medium revs/axis rotation tweener.  SO which of these would be best for lighter conditions?  Also, what would be a good layout to go long and snap hard for it?  I was assuming one of the pearls (obviously), but i have never seen one, so I really don't know how they all compare.

uranium drilled weaker should still be very skid snappy on light mediums to mediums

Hah, those were pretty much the ones I had thought of.

Anyone have general characteristic differences?  I.E. skid-flippiest, most arcing...

I would have to agree with King, I don't have a Uranium yet, but I have the XXL and it's perfect for those conditions. It a really strong ball for a urethane and medium light conditions are perfect for this ball.

I will have to disagree with King. I have the Uranium and it handles everything from light to medium. I haven't seen any oil heavier than medium, so I can't speak for the Uranium beyond that.

Now then, I don't have a lot of hand to really crank it out there like a lot of these young bowlers. I am merely somewhere between a Stroker and Tweener and I don't give the ball a hard turn, lift or whatever. I simply "flow it onto the lane." Since King describes the Uranium as "skid-flip", I will have to assume he both has and uses a "lot of hand" because mine has a hard angular drive, but doesn't skid-flip. Now, if you have a "lot of hand", then you may need something weaker like the Emerald.

Medium/light, skid/flip, sounds like a job for a Silver Buzzsaw.  A lot of people thought the Cherry (original, not Bomb) was flippy.  I owned the Cherry and threw a friend's Silver.  Silver went longer and turned much harder.

AK57, the Silver that Strider mentioned has been retired so I don't know if it is even possible to find one, new or used. The XXL and Emerald both go long. The XXL has a hook rating of 15 and only 3" of flare where as the Emerald has a hook rating of 19 and 5" of flare. If you will go to the Lane 1 site and click on both the XXL and Emerald balls, it will give you a demonstration of the type hook these balls have. You will see the Emerald going much longer than the XXL and hooking harder than the XXL. If you want the best length and hook combined, go with the Label Drilling. Stacked leverage will give you the most hook, but it will also give you less length which you don't want for what you're looking for.

My mistake on the Silver.  I has reappeared three times and I forgot it's gone again.  It will probably resurface again before too long.  Anyway, Silver's aren't too hard to find, especially used.

Ok, so either Emerald Pearl or SD....

I remember some of you saying to talk to Doug Sterner...I checked out his site, but would he drill the ball too?  And for someone who has bought from him (or Doug himself ), how much is it?  Just wondering, since my only real option is probably from an online pro shop or such.

Wow, those are good prices for drilling!  $35 for everything....geez, it costs $30 here just for a slug!

Wow, I'll definitely look into that.  Meanwhile, I'll decide between the SD and EP.......
