Just was given a Pro Purple Buzzsaw(NIB). Don't know a whole lot about this ball and I'm just wondering how does it compare to todays equipment and what I should do with it.
If you are unsure if you want to drill it for yourself, you might consider selling it. Those used to fetch huge numbers on eBay a few years ago. Not sure if that's still the case though. I wouldn't mind having it if you decide not to drill it for yourself.
Anyway, mine (wish now I wouldn't have given it away) was the definition of smooth. Best for medium oil, but could handle everything except the extremes with the right cover prep and release changes. Heck of a control ball - would probably be great on sport patterns. Cleaner than urethane through the heads and a nice controllable curve (not really an arc, certainly not a flip) after the mid lane.
