What is the depth of H2O engraving
« on: December 17, 2006, 05:51:52 AM »
Hi. Got an H2O off EBay. The engraving on the ball feels pretty smooth. The serial# is plenty deep but I don't want to have the lettering start disappearing on me if I do any resurfacing. I think that is the point where the ball becomes undersize and not legal anymore. Never had a Lane 1 ball before so don't have anything to go by. Thanks

Dick

2-3mm at least. I would not worry too much about this - like Buzzhead states, as long as the serial number is visible you are O.K., and to render a ball illegal through sanding will be quite an effort.

(I don't know if this was continued with the switch to Columbia covers or not)
