First Lane 1 ball

I have been wanting to try lane 1 for a while now.  I have read good things about both the Cobalt and Black Cherry Bomb.  Im really leaning towards the BCB.  What does everyone else think?

What I wish users, who want answers to questions like this, would do is post what conditions they regularly see and what kind of reaction they are looking for as well.  Without knowing the conditions, and judging from your profile, the BCB would be a good choice, but if I were to suggest a 2 ball arsenal (not counting a spare ball), I would go with a Solid Uranium and Cobalt.  The other ball I might recommend instead of SU would be the Hybrid Dirty Bomb.  Let me know if I can help with anything regarding your choice of Saws, and welcome to the right side of bowling.

hey ... looking for something for medium - medium heavy

i am rev challanged with a good amount of speed.  i get enough revs to make it move but not enough to swing the ball.  i want something to pick up really strong in the backend but clear the heads with ease.

i rarely swing the ball also, but the Enriched Uranium (layout in my profile) has allowed me to swing the ball with a booming backend, even with lower revs.

that ball has impressed me, even with the lackluster lane #1 video that initally had me doubting the ball.

and its a med-heavy ball, right up your alley IMO.

Enriched is NOT for medium to med/heavy.  I would go with the Hybrid DB or the Solid Uranium.

take activator+ w/particles, lay it out how i have it, then shoot it straight like bowler247 likes it, it'll be close to med to med-heavy.

Let us not forget that he has above average speed, like me, which would make for not a heavy ball.  I would have to see it to believe it, as I have the EU.

I throw the Solid Uraunim on medium and medium heavy and the ball is both consistent and the carry tremendous.  I also have the BCB polished that I have put between the SU and the Tsunami.  The Cobalt and the EU is way to skid flippy for me drilled in a couple different ways.  The HDB reads the lane very well but I have a hard time kicking out the 10 pin.  The SU one in box and one polished has consistently kick the 10 pin out.

I am continuing to work with the Cobalt and I spent a lot of time on the lanes comparing the Cobalt to the New Standard and the New Standard though a couple uears old out performed the Cobalt consistently.  I will continue to thropw the Cobalt because I just might need to get a few more games on the ball.  This is not a slam on the Cobalt because I didn't like The One either, and many bolwers loved that ball.

Dave .. not working with you .. doesn't mean it won't work with others
I have 2 of them and sometimes it can handle the heavy oil .. meduim and med-heavy is what I use it for

BCB flares the most out of current lane#1 balls and has a strong arc backend

cobalt has a very strong angular backend

choice is yours
