Specs or info on the Comet Pro
« on: August 27, 2003, 07:03:28 PM »
I went ahead and for the hell of it picked this one up from Drillwizard.  Any SawHeads in here have anything on this older Lane 1 product?

It's the blue one with swirls on it.......nice looking ball.

All I know it is a polished reactive for lighter oils.

Thanks

If I recall correctly, the Comet has an inverted Viper core.
You will not see me on the PBA Tour, but I love the game!!!

The Comet Pro is a half diamond core, which is VERY similar to the Viper core.  Released in '94, the coverstock is regarded, by today's standards, to be very mild reactive resin.  I have had one for over a year now.  It rolls well both polished and dull.  It is my "Life Preserver" when the lanes turn south and the rest of my modern, super-duper, techno stuff goes haywire.  Very smooth from start to finish.  Carries well in my hand.  Good luck with it and if you find you like it as much as I like mine....buy another one if you can to have as a backup.  I wish like hell I could find another one in 14.  I would buy a case of them if I could.  Again, good luck with it bro.

Thanks Darren, for the info and the luck.  I wish I could help you out with your AZO quest but all of my AZO equipment is heavy 15lbs or 16lbs.

If you shop on ebay at all, you will find a few 15lb or 16lb Visionary balls up for sale.  There's even a 16lb AZO Apex, which if I'm lucky enough to, I may pick it up.
