Cranberry layout
« on: August 16, 2005, 10:25:48 AM »
I have not drilled the cranberry yet, because I can't decide on a layout. The ball has 3" pin with 4.2 top. I have a cherry C2 with a short pin, drilled with pin in ring & cg in palm no weight hole. I really don't know which side of the cherry that the cranberry will fall on, more or less aggressive. I know the cherry is pearl & the cranberry is solid, but the specs show the cherry with 1 point higher on hook rating & 2" more flare. If you had these, would you lay out the cranberry to go long & less aggressive for use on drier lanes?
Any suggestions appreciated from those who have used these balls.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Revs! I was hoping someone would respond that has used one be cause I'm not sure if I want to lay it out to go long or to be aggressive earlier. Also, do you know if the cranberry will be more or less aggressive than the cherry C2?

Thanks guys. If that's what the ball is designed to do, then I'll lay it out at 1:30 label. That should go long & snap good.

I wonder why I will agree with scottie.......hmmmm...anyway, I found the Cranberry to handle less oil than the Cherry Pearl C/2. The CPC/2 had alot more backend for me and the Cranberry was more controlled but needed more dry boards to drive the pocket. My Cranberry was drilled 4 x 3 1/2 and the CPC/2 was drilled pin over ring finger and CG out..both with decent pins.

Thanks for the input. I still have not drilled the cranberry, but I don't think I can hold off much longer. I guess if I want enough of a difference between the two, I should just give the cranberry a length drilling. I'm limited with the 3" pin, but I was thinking just a 1:30 label. Do you think that should give me enough length & a decent backend? Thanks in advance!

I think it will give you alot of length and decent backend if there is dry for it to turn. ANY carrydown and you better move because it will get squirty unless you drill it a little stronger. JMO
