Title: XXL or XXXL
Post by: htotheizzo3561 on September 01, 2004, 12:14:59 PM
In the miscellaneous section, there is a post about the best urethane ball, I naturally said the slate blue gargoyle and the XXL.  I just learned that visionary is no longer PBA approved, so I need a new dry lane ball.  The reviews for the XXL sounded like it hooks more than expected for a urethane ball. My question really is, "Does the XXXL act like every other plastic ball or does it actually move a little bit? And how is the hitting power."  I am a high-end tweener that is very versatile.

Hot, the XXXL is not like every other plastic ball. It does hook more than normal 3-piece plastics. On dry lanes, the XXXL hits/carries like all the other Buzzsaws.

Read the reviews and decide for yourself. =:^D

Lane #1 would say pin axis; I say (if you spin it enough), 7-7.5" from your axis. It will flare inverted (toward the fingers), but not enough to hit them.

Look at the Columbia Trooper or a Pure Hammer, also there is a ton of good hammer urethanes on Ebay everyday.

If you want the ball to go dead straight, place the pin and CG both 6 3/4" from your PAP. =:^D

Drilled it last night, came with a 4 inch pin and 4.4 oz. top. Have the pin way above the ring and the cg right in the middle of my palm.  threw it at a spare, not altering my release, hook past it.  threw it again, flat handing the ball, my usual way, went straight as an arrow if not straighter than my spare ball.  Got to bowl on some dry also, moved nicely, not violent but hits. I'm impressed.
