The BTM tourney in ALbuquerque (for Nationals) is a true flat oil pattern. I used a high pin Buzz and did fairly well on fresh oil until one lane in my 3rd game derailed me. I had 2 boards to hit and had 3 opens in the 5 frames on that lane. My Buzz had about a 3" pin, with a 1" buffer (pin wound up above and well right of the ring finger) and 4.5" CG.

The Buzz handled that condition well, FOR ME and my release. A Lot depends on the amount of oil and your hand. For the BTM & true flat oil, a polished solid (like a polished XS Power) with a high or long pin could also work. A lot depends on your hand and release.
