How come LM/L's never tells us ....
« on: August 24, 2006, 05:47:49 AM »
What factory finish the ball has.

Anyone got a list of the grit sand and type of polish finish each ball has?

Perhaps a link?

Their web sites have email addys for questions; I'm pretty sure that they will answer any questions related to the surface finishes since they aren't "trade secrets".

This is a good topic. Let me ask why all companies don't list the sanding grit, polish, and etc. on all of their balls like Brunswick does. You don't really have to call Brunswick and ask them about much of anything in terms of sanding and polishing their balls as the information is all listed on their site. My hat is off to Brunswick in that respect. To sum it up, why does anyone have to call any company to find out the sanding grit and polishing info and etc.? If it is not a secret, then why isn't it posted? Why make people ask? Etc. etc.

Probably because 99%+ of the people who look at the websites do not change the surface of their balls.

Yes, most of us on ballreviews.com do, but you MUST remember that we are in the vast minority. I wonder if experience doesn't tell the others that some of those vast details will only confuse most of the reading public.

I'd have to say at least 40% of dedicated bowlers, such as us.... change the coverstock on balls every now and then.

Many of us even own personal ball spinners....

So i'll ask again

Why dont they display the finished grit of there balls....?

Why don't you simply ask the people that make that decision ??? Ask the powers-to-be at Legends instead of just getting opinions in here ???

BTW, I have purchased a few used "L/L" balls in the past 6-7 months; any time that I had a question concerning coverstocks and getting a used ball back to it's original OOB surface, I was provided with that info ...detailed, step-by-step info to achieve the desired result.

Oh ... and if I'm not mistaken (and I could be) their particle ball "sheen" finish is combo of 800 grit gray pad, Factory Finsh polish and again with the gray pad; on their reactive stuff, "polished" means their Factory Finish polish.

Again ... to get the real answer that you desire, and not to simply solicit opinions that reinforce your outrage at them for NOT providing those details, call them and just ask !!! Hey ... maybe your query will get them to change their thinking on this subject and maybe even start posting that info in their ball talkers and ads !!!

"HoG",
The answer to your question has been given; the links to the Legends/Lane Masters web sites are easy to get to and open for research ... the only thing left for you to do is go to the web sites and email or call them.

I don't know anything about the Terminator, Big Bang and Buzz, other than what I have read on this site and seeing Chris Leftwich blowing the pins away with the Terminator, but I will say that you can't go wrong with the XXXL. That is one "must have ball" that everyone should have in their bag.

Thx Laybzz74,

I got the Buzz drilled today, but there was a long fresh pattern out, so I didn't really ge to roll it... But over all I spent alot of time thinking about this set up

Terminator
BigBang
Buzz
XXXL

I think I can just about go into any house and get a good look... and my new grip that Gip set me up with only simplified this game for me.
