Post by: roger on February 20, 2008, 09:09:10 PM
I would like to know how to put the original box surface on a Black Pearl.

I SHOULD know this off the top of my head, BUT I want to make sure that you get the correct info; if you call LaneMasters directly and ask your question, either Galen Gentry OR the "boys" that do their coverstock work would be more than happy to tell you the proper stpes and sequence.
Good luck !!!

The BP comes polished OOB, their polished finish is (was?) a maroon pad, then a grey pad, then a super-heavy coat of their factory polish.

I believe it's 600 or 800 sanded then polished.

Boys, sorry for not posting; but few days ago I received answer from Galen:

320 wet sand
400 wet sand
800 wet sand
Lane Masters factory polish
White pad

I think they use the white pad for good luck. Unless you soak it in acetone, it does not do anything to my balls, nor my bowling balls ... (bada-bing! )
