Medium conditions ... when you want a strong reactive pearl with a higher RG to get down the lane a bit, but still have some backends pop.

As Robb said, it's excellent for medium conditions.  For me, it fits under  the Sting and is closer to the Buzz.  The Sting can handle a higher volume of oil than the SS.  The SS and the Buzz are close in oil handling with the exception on the backend.  Now the Buzz is no slouch on the back but the SS is the ball that will let you easily open up the lane.  This ball is a lot of fun (it can also get you in trouble when you don't put it away when you should).  If you like to watch a ball go coast to coast and have excellent carry from all angles, then the SS is the ball you should try.  Here is the link from BowlersJournal http://www.bowlersjournal.com/no_holes_barred/display_article?id=106 on the SS review from this month's issue.  BTM also gave it favorable reviews but since that information is not on public domain I can not post it.  I always attributed the excellent hit and carry of L/LM balls to their thick shells but as the SS is their first mid-priced ball with a filler around the core, it must be something else because this ball hits and carries just like all of it's other "family" members.  You won't be dissapointed.

I can understand why the Sure Strike will back end more than the Buzz if it's true that it's using the Masterpiece core.  I think somebody said that.

I BELIEVE that the Sure Strike core is actually closer to the original Yeah Baby core (if memory serves me correctly in my chats with Galen).

The Sure Strike has a modified Masterpiece core and the new one coming out, XS Power, has a modified Absolute Power core.

I just rolled mine for the first time tonight, and, so far, I like it a lot. Easy length, with a nice pop on the backend. No overskate in the oil, which really impressed me, especially with the drill I used(specs in profile). Shot 700 even, right out of the gate, so I think it'll find a place in my rotation.
