Kong Seriously that long and strong ?
« on: August 31, 2006, 04:42:42 PM »
Alot of you claim the Kong is THEE dry burnt up lane ball.

So can some one please compare the Buzz to the Kong for me.

Will the Kong go longer on drying patterns that the Buzz? and still retain energy.

I am just tripping on the partical coverstock, its so odd to me that a partical ball will get through dry heads and short light oil.

Please explain.

um i think you have the kong confused with another ball
direct from the reviews section, the actual company dicription

quote:
Description: A hooking monster designed for medium to heavy oil conditions. Gets down the lane with a ferocious hook on the backend that is sure to scare up some pin action. Long and strong, there''s no going wrong with the Kong!

even if someone might consider it weak "for what its supposed to do" its by mo means a light oil ball let alone toast

Kong is stronger than the Buzz i never said weaker i said for me it is better light oil ball. I belly my kong alot it cuts through the carrydown because of the particle load that is what makes it so good. You better go get one i have 3 drilled for this year all different layouts and with my new grip, they will be gone i dont care what Galen says about short runs and that stuff. I also have 3 big kahuna's ready to go unless they crack i am set for long long time, again different layouts and surface preps.

Long, yes ... weak ??? NO !!!
Although it's NOT the medium to medium-heavy "oiler" that it was originally advertised to be, this ball is an absolute BEAST on medium to medium-light patterns; BUT, as advertised, it DOES "go long and come back strong" !!!
Mine is a keeper and I'm keeping my eye out for a few more to keep in reserve since "L/LM" has decide to "retire" it and take it out of production (along with the Big Kahuna (reference their 2006 Ball Catalog).

So would you say the Buzz needs more oil than Kong, and as a pattern burns up the Kong will perform better than the Buzz....?

Because my Buzz can handle medium fresh patterns easily.

that was actually the point of my post aswell, even if it was way off, there is noway a ball that was supposed to handle med-heavy and is particle would handle toast. i dont really think it came out right but thats what i was trying to say. sorry about that

Just had my 2 kong's redrilled my driller told me even the diamond pad on the haus machine barley cuts the ball down. I think we might have by accident figured out why it is so good on dryer patterns even with particle load in it, the ball's hardness on 2 separate balls unless using a diamond pad do not cut down or very mininally at best. He tried 360 pads at first and the balls actually shined up some he told me, so they must be harder than advertised. Also one of the balls the favorite of the two picked phasing from the water used in the haus machine, it now has a big streak running in the track area. Kind of weird deal but i will have it with my for my 2 nd shift league on friday night.

I will report back findings if the ball still rolls like before or has changed from the diamond pads being used on it.

I had an older Fantasy X the Super carbon....The exact same problem, almost impossible to alter cover no matter what. Described as a oil ball but I think darn thing was so hard, was actually better on drier conditions. I think the Guarenteed is about the same way.
