heavy oil
« on: April 27, 2007, 03:59:18 PM »
looking for a heavy oil ball . thought about bigbang/ worldclass, but I think it may burn up too quick.
I am a high rev tweener with med high speed throwing a rs-p. usually around 15 to 4 on a med oily house shot.
looking at the terminator or black pearl. which is better in oil? looking for something that goes 25to 7. also, what pin and drilling?

just a warning though, the terminator needs oil, if your not on true heavy oil, the ball will burn up and roll out.

thanks for the info. how much stronger is the terminator than the black pearl? I really don't trust websites for telling how accurate their balls hook. our house shot usually is oilier in the spring, making me move in about 4 or so boards. does the black pearl also play better on med-heavy as well as the heavy oil?

The BP is designed for the medium/heavy condition, but will struggle a bit on the true heavy oil.  As far as which is stronger, it depends on the lane condition, on Heavy oil, the terminator is a stronger ball by a couple of boards, but on a medium/medium heavy shot, the terminator is prone to rolling out where the BP doesn't and thrives, becoming the stronger ball on those conditions.  The BP will be the more versitle ball, good from medium to heavy.  It will struggle a bit on the heavy, but can be used with good results.  I personally would recommend the BP or World Class Particle over the Terminator unless your on a true heavy condition.  The WCP handles oil a little better than the BP, for whatever that's worth.
