Im thinking about getting a buzz for just above my hornet.    With the same drill, how many boards stronger is the buzz?

Im able to play up 10 when theyre a little on the dry side with my hornet, i would like to be able to grab the buzz & play 15 to 10 when the shot gets a little too dry outside, but too slick inside for the hornet.

Any ideas?

My next 2 balls r going to be a buzz & a world class reactive.  Unless i wait on the world class particle pearl, & drill it weak.

I first punched up a Buzz and used it for a few months.  With my slower ball speed during the summer months (and total lack of concentration), I decided to get the Hornet for dryer conditions.  Then early fall, I would go with something a little stronger than the Buzz, to round out a 3-ball arsenal.

The Hornet does exactly what LM says.  A tamer reaction than the Buzz and great length.  I determined that with my ball speed and revs that I would probably be better off with a ball between the Buzz and Hornet.  Looking at at WCR or Big-R-Bang for that spot.  (I don't see a lot of oil around here, except when I bowl in the American Masters, their conditions are tough!!)

15 to 10 with the Buzz sounds good if you have some hand and about 16MPH ball speed.  The Buzz will recover well with a strong, continuous arc.  If the Buzz is too strong initially, take it up to 1000/2000 abralon with polish, that should get you a little more length with no loss in backend recovery.

i would recomend the buzz to anybody supper smooth and predictable. yea i would say it would fit what your looking for because it is earlier than i expeted to you ae able to play deeper 15 to 10 if youd like. so id say the horney is mabe 3-5 boards weaker and longer so the buzz wouls be a nice complement to your hornet.

YES !!! With that light-load particle coverstock, it WILL be stronger; if drilled the same, they are, in order of potential/designed strength and oil-handling capabilities:
1 - STING
2 - BUZZ
3 - Hornet (BTW, this ball STILL hits VERY hard and has some SERIOUS backend potential !!!)

I agree with the backend potential.  I was able to play from up 10 to almost 10 out to the gutter.  Adjusting hand position and speed, it came back to pocket from all those lines.  Also, your typical LM hit, hard and nasty.

well, even when im fluffing the ball.  My hornet works on medium oil.  I can play up 10 all day long, if they get too dry for up 10, 12-5 works great also.  The problem is, when the up 10 line gets dry, and/or outside of 7 is too dry to get any area at all, i cant move deeper with the hornet, at all.  Anything 15 or deeper requires me to put more hand in it, & IMO the ball just isnt meant to be covering the lane.  

From my exp so far with the hornet, it doesnt carry at all when covering more boards than it has to.  So what im wanting is something that is right around 3-5 boards stronger than the hornet, & hooks a LITTLE earlier.

My hornet is drilled 4.5x4  Im thinking about doing the same 4.5x4 on the buzz, but with the pin under the ring, instead of above the ring.  That SHOULD get the ball to roll just a BIT earlier, & have nice continuation thru the pins.
