Low Flare vs High Flare
« on: May 21, 2008, 06:34:30 AM »
I like all of the Legends and Lane Masters equipment that I have purchased over the years, but I have noticed that I consistenly roll best with a short Pin (2 to 2.5 inches) and high diff high flare equipment.  My 299 came with my Black Pearl and My 300 came with the XS Power. Anyone else perfer the high flare, high diff 0.55 rocks?

I need the help prefer lower rg's and anything  over .040 diff's, have had some success with Legends stuff like the Kong and Kahuna they act like balls that have both built into them for me.

But, Barry, the Kong and the BK are both below .040" RG diff. That's why I like them.

But then I liked the NS, and the YB too.

Robo,

Any idea why you seem to need higher RG diff and, thus, flare?
There are many potential reasons:
- higher ball speed
- the line you like to play (more hook)
- lower rev rate.

Don't forget that if, on lower flaring balls, like the Sting, Buzz, King, Big Kahuna, World Class series, you put the pin in a strong position, (3 - 4" from your PAP), the ball will still flare fairly strongly, like 4" or more, depending on your hand.
