If you had to choose a five ball LaneMasters arsenal for normal THS conditions, what would YOU choose

Criteria is as follows:

1- particle
2- particle pearl/polished particle
3- solid reactive
4- reactive pearl
5- light/dry lane ball

(BTW ... actually a 6 ball arsenal, if you throw in an ARROW as a spare ball.)

Thanx for your time, thoughts, and for sharing your experiences !!!

Robb,

If you want to make an arsenal with some older stuff, i would suggest the following:
1- particle: Terminator or Sting
2- particle pearl/polished particle: Obviously, Black Pearl/WCPP, I didn't really test the Counterstrike.
3- solid reactive: Terminator Rebellion
4- reactive pearl: Black Pearl Reactive or The Buzz
5- light/dry lane ball: Hornet, hands down

If you want to make an arsenal out of some of the newer stuff, this is what I would currently use/and have:
1- particle: Black Diamond x 2
2- particle pearl/polished particle: Extreme Damage, WCPP or Black Pearl
3- solid reactive: Terminator Rebellion
4- reactive pearl: Black Pearl Reactive
5- light/dry lane ball: Hornet

No argument with any of the arsenals provided but here''s my two cents:

1. particle: Black Diamond
2. particle pearl: Black Pearl
3. solid reactive: Terminator Rebellion
4. reactive pearl: Black Pearl Reactive
5. light/dry lane ball: Hornet

Alternatives:

1. particle: Dynamic Power, Conqueror (Terminator if you can find one)
2. particle pearl: Buzz Attack or World Class Particle Pearl
3. solid reactive: XS Power
4. reactive pearl: Sure Strike/new Solid Strike
5. light/dry lane: Straight Flush (if you can find one)

All of these are currently available (with the exception of the Straight Flush and Terminator)

I like the Black Diamond/Black Pearl/Black Pearl Reactive progression as they have similar reactions and, as a group, cover most of the conditions one will see on a THS. The Rebellion provides more control and a different shape. The Hornet is awesome on dry, short and burned track conditions. It retains energy well when polished and provides control when the surface is sanded with 2000 or 4000-grit abralon

how about 3 balls? just go with the world class series! covers pretty much everything except for the extremes (oily/dry)

I agree with you zone but I arrived too late to the LM/L party. I have a WCPP but missed out on the WCP and WCR. Perhaps Lane Masters would consider pouring another 500-1000 World Class (Particles) and World Class Reactives?

yea they are still around here and there. same with the Sting, buzz, and hornet. just depends on your style. for the THS these balls should cover it. if your generally go for stronger balls for a lack of revs or whatnot then go with the World Classes. if you have more revs and need something thats gonna react further down the lane then the others are for u.

From what I see there would be way to much gap between a Black pearl reactive and a horntet or strait flush. Mine with a weak drill is a very strong ball,

my shot at this is

particle- Black diamond
particle pearl- black pearl or terminator, extreme damage looks promising
solid reactive- termiantor rebellion
pearl reactive- here's where I differ, I say pick up a BPR, and a Buzz if findable, they will differ enough warrant each.
Light/dry- Hornet

Although that is 6, I feel having each of the Black pearl seriers is good because they will provide a broad range of conditions with a very similar shape only decreasing in strngth as you go from one to another. You would have your term rebellion fdor a control ball good for the sport shots. The buzz for a milder in all aspects pearl to go under the BPR, then your hornet for anything under Buzz.
