whats the best layout for the black pearl I had it like this but it tracks over the thumb  .

This work very well for me:
Black
Pearl: 3 1/4" pin, 4 x 3 layout, pin above ring
       cg on ML, WH(location of your choice to "tweak" the ball's reaction),
       1000 grit(white pad)
