In the June issue of BJI there is a half page ad for Lane Masters and Legends. It says the website will be launched on June 17th. Looks like a new company is being formed, California Bowling LLC, in which Lane Masters and Legends will be a trademark of. Tony Martin is associated with this company. They will also be the exclusive distributors of Lord Field bowling products.
Welcome back Lane Masters!
-
Yep, they are pouring balls at the old Lane Masters plant here in Stockton.
-
I hope they re-issue the Hornet.
-
One added note: Web site launch date, June 17, 2013

That is sweet indeed.
-
That's odd. I thought LordField was Tonys.

That's odd. I thought LordField was Tonys.
Tony is a/the VP of Lord Field here in the US. I know he also designs the new balls we have seen here in the US. I'm sure he will have more staff in the near future.
Tony may clarify but I believe that LF .. (edited) bought the brand name, Legends. Tony will probably be the executive in charge of LM as well as LF (marketing, ball design, manufacturing, etc.).
-
Ah ok that clarifies it somewhat. I knew that LordField is at plant where Legends was at but idk that LordField bought rights of Legends and I thought conflict of interest with Tony being involved with 2 companies. But if Legend and LordField are one in the same, that's good for them.
-
I, for one, can't wait to see what they will bring out, in the LaneMasters line of balls:
- old ones re-issued (I have a bunch of requests: Buzz, Hornet, New Standard)
- completely new ones
- mixture of old and new (I'd love to see some new covers around some of the great LM cores.)
I also wonder how or if they will complement Lord Field's current line-up.
-
Well I wish Tony the best ever since I had to drop my staff position there for a Radical staff position. He welcomed me back whenever I want to and I really appreciated that from him.
-
The word locally about a current ball being poured has the Legends name. I was told it has the Dynasty core(New Standard, NS2, Black Pearl/Black Diamond etc) and is stronger than any ball currently sold by Lord Field.
I didn't get details on the cover, but from history I would wager a guess that it is a particle ball.
This information came from one of our local pro shop owners, so I have to assume it is pretty reliable.

I figured Pat Patterson would be all over this :)

FOR REAL! DANG!

While I wouldn't be surprised if Pat tried one of the new LM offerings, I don't think he would just drop Lord Field, unless something drastic happened.

Hello Everyone,
To clarify some points first:
1. We are not located at the old LM plant. I built a whole new facility that has room for expansion. We have no affiliation with any of the old company.
2. We have none of the old LM employees affiliated with us. We are starting fresh and I will have employees later.
3. California Bowling bought all trade names of Lane Masters/Legends through bankruptcy court.
4. I have 4 balls already approved at USBC. One I sold out over seas. I have another one in the works. I should have approval by July 1.
5. New releases here in states: 2 with the Dynasty Core(2 piece), 2 with all new cores including one asymetrical(3 piece) will be available when we open up.
No Bags or accessories yet. Just balls for now.
I am surprised the magazine got out already. I tried to keep this a secret as long as I could. Please look for a feature article in July explaining some of this.
For myself this is a brand new addition and start to something I love. I am now able to do the things I always wanted to before. Mix some of the old weight blocks and some new stuff as well. For all you Lane Masters faithful out there stay tuned. I promise to do my best for the brand.

So I guess someone else is pouring Legends label balls at the previous LM location on Alpine in Stockton? Or does our local pro shop have bad information? He seemed pretty specific about it.

Milo I would check your source again. You might have misunderstood them.
I will only state facts here and you read them.

Milo,
Maybe what you heard about is the new joint effort company called next gen bowling headed up by Fred Borden and Sam Baca?

That's entirely possible. Or the guy who mentioned it to me misunderstood the situation.

Glad to see Lane Masters is back. The latest USBC approved L/M balls are on a Korean site. They were called Perfect, Advantage, The Black Pearl-The Deep Sea, and Terminator Disaster. All the balls except the Perfect has California Bowling printed on the flyers.
Sure interested in the Black Pearl if that is one of the US releases.
-
Milo this is at least the second time you have been wrong on these boards about things that involve me and LM. Please do not spread any info unless you have seen things with your own eyes or got the info from me. I am available anytime you want confirmation.
-
Gladiator 1
You expect people to investigate info before they pass it on?
That would be the right way to do things and everyone knows that's not how it works in today's environment.
Good luck with the LM brand as I'm a fan of their equipment. Matter of fact I'm shipping three older LM's to Nationals Monday morning.
Thanks
Bob
-
I guess you're right there Bob. Good luck at Nationals.
-
very excited for this! nothing but great things to come from Lord Field and Lane Masters.
-
I was contemplating buying the LF Higgs but now I will have to wait and see what L/M releases. I will be interested especially in the 2 new releases with the Dynasty core.

Is Visionary pouring for them? If not that Extreme ball is ripping off their old AMB core big time.

I believe NextGen is working with Visionary in the development of their balls and that Visionary is manufacturing them. Last time I talked with NextGen via email a few months back, they were concentrating on overseas sales but would sell balls in the US directly if you contacted them.
FYI NextGen seems to be run by Fred Borden and Sam Baca, the ones who helped start up LaneMasters. They are no longer associated with LM.
NextGen has the Ignitor.
Lane-Masters has the Advantage, the Black Pearl DS, the Perfect, and the Red Diamond

Site went live at about 3:00pm PST. We were targeting 6:00pm evening for the east coast so we could get a bigger volume of hits as soon as the site was up.
Nothing too exciting. I'm going to keep it simple and informational and up to date on all info.
Videos and other items will be down the road a couple of months.
