i was considering buying a legends product in the near future. I know personally 4 people that have bought from legends. 2 yeah babys a new standard, and a satisfaction. all 4 state that they cleaned the ball after each nite of use using the cleaner that came with the ball. now to my understanding these balls shouldn't lose their reaction since they dont soak up oil, however they state that the balls lost reaction after about a half season. what is the deal, this makes me think twice about buying. i was thinking either a kong or a masterpiece

i have throw almost every Legends/Lanemasters ball and never had that problem. the Kong or Masterpiece are both great balls

All reactive and Particle Coverstocks absorb oil, and will eventually die, Lanemasters doesn't claim that their coverstocks don't adhere to these qualities.  They say that they use finer resins and thus prolong the use of a ball.  Much of what people that use their stuff say supports this position, so I would say either the people you speak of are using their stuff alot or their cleaning methods are not optimal for maximum longevity of a coverstock.

I have the Absolute Power and the Yeah Baby both are over a year old.
The AP has about 500 games on it and it has had 1 resurface and reacts as well today as when it was purchasd.
Th Yeah Baby has over 100 games on it and is about 600-800 grit and moves in heavy oil with no loss of reaction to date.
I can only think that the Yeah Babys are not being used on enough oil which is what I found gives the impression of losing its reaction.
Mind you I did have a problem with my yeah baby and it was one of the original batch that came into this country.

I have both the KONG and MASTERPIECE as my 1-2 combo.
I took a heavy SB pad to my KONG and polished it to a glass mirrior finish and it now hooks more than when I first got it OOB.  I can really open up the lane with it.  When the oil burns up I switch to my MASTERPIECE.  The both hit like no other brand.

No one, least of Lanemasters/Legends, has ever said this. They have said that they absorb oil slower than the average resin ball. They have said they use premium resins with no fillers and these better resins will last longer.

There is no ball made to day that does NOT lose reaction over time. NOT A SINGLE ONE! Balls need to be rejuvenated one way or the other; they need to be resurfaced regularly. There are no exceptions. period.

There is no reason for you to think twice about this UNLESS you are just trolling. If you're serious, I do not know these people, I don't know how they say they are losing  their ball's reactions. I do not know how well these people know balls, not how well they can recognize conditions and patterns. (Possibly theor house has changed their oil pattern or the weather or some other factor has changed the PERCEIVED lane conditions.) There are too many factors involved in this situation.

It is entirley possible that they are using a sanded ball on a lot of oil and it has absorbed too much oil and the reacion has diminished (never is it "lost" entirely.) and it needs to have the oil extracted or otherwise rejuvenated.

Lanemaster/Legends balls can be expensive, as most premium balls are. But their normal longevity, their consistency of reaction and their hitting power, when used appropriately can not be bettered. It can be matched by a few balls, of course. I believe they remain a very good buy.
