Title: Masterpiece a good Dry lane ball?
Post by: Cranking_Inferno on May 23, 2006, 06:06:21 AM
How well does the Masterpiece work on medium to light broken down conditions?

A lot of the guys here who have one say it's very strong...I've seen reports of it handling medium heavies!  Be careful here

I agree with Jeff ... I'm sure that "charlest" will post a thread on this too since he has one and has posted a review on it; I'd say NO, not a "dry" lane ball ... and if you drilled it up for dry, you wouldn't be doing the ball justice !!!
FYI, Legends is coming out with the "Straight Flush" this suummer and it's supposed to be for drier conditions.

I have a Masterpiece drilled 4.25 by 4.25 ( pin over ring cg stacked below), ball was very strong, In box finish too strong for games 2 and 3 of League on a THS.  A better choice out of the current line up would be an Absolute Power or a Buzz, drilled weaker with a 5.5 or 6 inch pin to Pap distance.  Still they wouldnt be considered dry lane balls (IMO) but a ball for drier lanes....

I agree, but only as far as with the AP ... I have a Buzz and it's more for a pattern that has "broken down" a bit and for opening the lane up, not so much for drier conditions. Again, I don't think that drilling The Buzz as a dry condition ball would be doing it justice. My 2 cents ...
