Black Pearl VS World Class Partical Pearl
« on: January 27, 2008, 07:17:30 AM »
Does anyone have them both ?  I am hopeing to get some comparisons.  My guess would be that the wcpp goes longer with a sharper backend, but looking to hear from people that have used the WCPP...

i too was wondering this.

if I had to guess it seems that the wcpp would go longer with a more angular backend.

im leaning more toward eventually getting the wcpp as I find it sometimes hard to read the lanes with a ball that flares a lot... (not that a diff of .055 is that much but i like control)

My guess would be the opposite.  The World Class core is very rolly and what I've heard about the Black Pearl is that it is more of a long/strong type of reaction.

Shelly has it right, the WCPP is more controlable, arcing ball.  The Black Pearl is definately has the sharper backend.  Both are great balls, and actually make a great 1-2 punch.  The BP is the first out of my bag, but as the lanes dry out, it becomes a little unpredictable and I switch to the WCPP and I'm locked in for the duration.  Very similar shots.

jd1319...just curious, is your WCPP still OOB finish or did you shine it up to better compliment your BP when the lanes dry out?

Both are OOB finish.  I end up playing the exact same line with both balls, but they have different breakpoints.  The BP is prone to overreacting as it dries out, the WCPP is amazingly predictable.

Thanks for the info.  My BP is very predictable now that I hit it with the grey scotch brite pad.  Though by design, once the lanes dry out...in the bag it goes.  I will say that the BP really does move more on the back end than I ever anticipated for a symmetrical core ball.  If you prefer control, then the WCPP might be the way to go.  Personally, I'm used to a stronger back end move so the BP fits my game nicely.  I am not sure I need the WCPP but I sure do want one.
