All,

I'd like some assistance/suggestions from the experts if I may. They've changed the THS this year to something quite different with a lot more oil, longer and wider. I can't seem to get my BP to do much of anything. I don't have a lot of hand or revs, so I was contemplating a surface adjustment. It is still OOB. My thought was to prep with one of the scotchbrite pads and then re-polish, or just leave cover without polish. Do you folks think this might help? I've already tried everything else I know with speed, hand and line adjustments. Thanks in advance!!!

Depends on how much oil.
Start with the finest nylon pad, the light grey one. It's about 800 grit US/CAMI grade. You can always make it rougher. And you can always add polish.

I agree with Jeff by utilizing the included pads, they are excellent for making quick changes to the surface. From personal experience I find that if I need just a touch more hook, just knocking-off the polish with the supplied L/LM Cleaner will suffice.

I experienced the identical issue w/my BP. OOB it would not do much of anything on my somewhat "oiler" THS. I bumped it with the included grey scotchbrite pad and it was a completely different ball. I will say you will need to apply some pressure for ~15 secs on each side...maybe more depending on spinner RPM. The L/LM covers are much harder than those from the "big 3" manufacturers. Don't fret...if you take too much polish off it can easily be re-applied.

My BP is currently grey scotchbrite will a very light amount of LM polish. I find this combo matches up very well for me.

I did the same with my Buzz: same problem, same solution, same good results.

Thanks you guys for your replies. It's a pleasure getting responses without making one feel stupid. I've hit the cover with the grey scotchbrite and what a difference. I may hit one more time before tonight's Men's league second shift. Thanks again to all.
