My question, though, is which one --
Big Bang, World Class, or Terminator?
I'm looking for something to combat harder medium-heavy conditions, i.e., a collegiate sport shot, Nationals, regional patterns, etc. Versatile, but still able to recover a bit, is what I want.
Right now, I just want to talk about ball characteristics, not about drilling or surface prep; besides, its not like I am horrible at laying out balls myself. All my personal stats are in my profile.
Just looking for some opinions!
By the way Laybzz74...the collegiate singles sectional that I am bowling in this year is in Fairview Heights, so you might be able to help me more than anyone else. I have bowled there before (IHSA state tournaments) and done ok...but never great...suggestions, perhaps?

I sure like mine have used it a little over a week now and today won a small local tourney with it and a Radar.
Haven't used the WC or Terminator so I can't say.

Haven't tried one nor a WCR. They seem really close the the BB to me. Of course you could lay them out differently and get a different reaction.
One thing, I will say from my use of an NS2 that a lot of the LM/L equipment are good for sport conditions because of their symmetrical cores and even reaction.

I had them both. I sold the Terminator because for med-heavy I don't believe that there is a better, more consistent, harder-hitting ball than the BB. Good Luck with your search!

If you check out the Legends web site, you can look at their info on each ball and also compare the three:

Now, based upon my personal experience ( I have all three
), I believe that all three will handle medium-heavy conditions, generally speaking and taking into account all of the variables that need to be consdiered ... that being said, I believe that the Terminator and the Big Bang will handle a higher volume of oil than the Black Pearl.Let me know when you at coming to Fairview Heights too, OK ???

March 23, Intercollegiate Singles Qualifier in Fairview Heights. The University of Virginia does not have an official bowling team...so I will just be bowling singles as the sole representative from UVA.

FWIW I touched up the surface of the black Pearl using Track's Clean and Smooth (a 1500 grit unpolished finish), because, with its stock high gloss polish, the ball flipped far too late on medium-heavy oil. With its smoothed surface, the ball reacted, "properly", biting the lane about 38/40 feet down (on Brunswick's AnvilLane surface, the slipperiest lane surface currently made) and made the turn about 44-46 feet down. These days, that's a smooth arc-like breakpoint, and it was.
With the Clean and Smooth, you can still see the underlying polish, but there was enough surface to grip the lane satisfactorily, for me.

I don't think my Black Pearl actually got to the "full" 1500 grit that C&A advertises, but I got enough gloss removed to get me the reaction I needed/wanted.

FWIW, my BP is plenty strong in the OOB state ... I normally have to put it away before a full three game series is completed; today was a good example of that ... 275, 248 and then two splits in the first four frames of game 3(big four and 4-9) before changing to a 1000 abralon Yeah Baby with no polish, and finished with a 184 and a 707 series (brain fart/operator error).
Good news is that 184 was the first non-deuce of 12 games since last Monday and all my opens, except for one whiffed 10 pin, have been splits; the latest "mini-slump" is history.

I can see how the BP would hook a lot once it finds some dry, with that glossy cover. If I used my old release, I might also get it to hook on more oil than I do now. But that's not where I want to be now.
FYI I don't think I could use a 1000 grit YB on anything but true heavy oil. I have an NIB 16 lb YB but have not needed to drill it up. With the BP and several other heavier oil balls, I have more than enough for the "playground" righ tnow.

Understood ... BTW, here are the specs and layouts on my BP and the YB:
Black
Pearl: 3 oz TW (NIB), 3 1/2" pin, 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 layout, cg 3/8" above midline,
pin above & right of the ring, OOB, no WH
Yeah
Baby: 3 oz TW (NIB), 4 1/8 pin, 5 1/4 x 3 1/2 layout, cg on midline,
pin on gripline and 4" above midline, 1000 abralon, no polish, no WH

OK, I give up; I think even I'd have trouble making that YB work on anything more than medium oil. I think I might have sent it back to whomever I'd bought it.
I have a Big Kahuna to handle that oil amount. It has a 3" pin-CG, with pin in the ring finger; my BP is drilled the same. It's about a 4.5" x 5" for me. Maybe that's why I needed to "soften" the cover's finish a little, vs your stacked leverage drilled BP.
