I have always been intrigued by LaneMasters and Legends products. Today i got a call from my boss at the shop. He had just got off the phone with his buddie the head coach of Arizona State, who is sponsored by LM/L. Since no one ever throws their equipment here on Long Island he is going to ship 2 to us to drill and throw. I am lucky enough to be the recipient of one of these and i get to choose which i want by tomorrow (wednesday) night.

Ill start off by telling you what i use on a regular basis:
Hammer High Rev
Hammer Road Hawg
Ebonite No Limit
Ebonite Whirl Wind

I also have and sometimes use these:
Columbia Action Packed
Ebonite Prime Time

Since the ball is going to be free, i dont care about over lap in the arsenal because this is a test to see how their equipment reacts. I was thinking between the big-R Bang, World Class Reactive and the Black Pearl. Any LM/L bowlers out there, id appreaciate any info you can give me on which would be good, which would suit my style, etc.

black pearl great overall ball and the wcr is good if you like playing tighter inside lines or more up the boards.

Black Pearl(particle pearl ... goes long and a big backend), The Buzz(reactive pearl ... for opening the lane up when the pattern breaks down), or a New Standard(light load particle ... versatile & strong, control ball for medium conditions), and a Terminator (dual load particle ... for medium to med-heavy oil; polished OOB, but for can "knock the shine off" for heavier conditions).

BTW, I have them all and love them all !!!

If I had to choose just one it would be the Black Pearl.
Easy length.
Big controlled backend.
Cover can be tuned to handle heavy to med light oil.

for em the two best lanemasters balls have been the Black pearl and the New Standard. Just love the reaction of the black pearl and the NS is about as good a ball out there for control and hit.

Doug,
Core match up

Those two, as well as their NS2, ALL have the same core ... and very similiar to a previously successful core in the R/G line in the Vendetta series.
BTW, rolled a 772 today with 2 opens with the BP (266-227-279); threw 11 Xs in the first and third game ... missed the 6 pin in that first game).

So it turns out that i dont have a choice of LM/L balls. Someone from Lanemasters/Legends called my boss and said they were sending a Big-R Bang.

So i know im getting a skid flip ball. Now how do i drill it? Heres pics of what im using exclusivly at the molment:

Im thinking that a Pin Up is the way to go. The only pin up in the bunch is my Whirl Wind. Im kinda thinking of doing a 5x4 or 5x3 drilling. Anyone think one is better than the other?
